From this to this!

Almost two years after first setting foot on this site, the project is now complete and has hit the market.

Massive congratulations to Superior Construction Ltd for the incredible build and for bringing this one across the finish line.

Click the link below for a great article and reel from OneRoof showcasing the completed project.

What the article doesn’t touch on, however, is the massive team of consultants who were engaged to get us to this point.

The building was a 50-year-old, uncompleted mess, with very little original information, no history of council inspections, and built on a steep site within a historic area overlay - making almost anything we wanted to do seem nearly impossible.

But it wasn’t.

A huge amount of work, coordination and problem-solving went into getting this project across the line, and I’d like to acknowledge the consultants who were a massive part of that journey:

CLC Consulting Group - Topographical Survey

Geoconsult - Geotechnical Report

DHC Consulting Group - Structural & Civil Engineering Design

CPPC Planning - Resource Consent Report

And finally, a massive thank you to our clients, Phil and Dina.

The process involved was something they had never encountered before, and after this one, I don’t think much will shock them! They showed patience of steel as we navigated the resource consent and building consent processes, worked through the unknowns and dealt with plenty of challenges along the way.

We wish you both every success with your future projects, and thank you for bringing Sketch along for the ride.

It’s been a big one, but seeing the finished result makes it all worthwhile.

From this… to this. 🍾

It’s awesome when we get to design a project right here in our own neighbourhood!

This one on Bramley Drive, in Farm Cove is now well underway, and it’s been great seeing the design start to come to life. We’ve got some fantastic owners on this project, and Faulkner Construction have been great to work with!

We’re looking forward to seeing this one continue to take shape and sharing a bit more of the finished project down the track.

Before and Progress Update – June

These two photos highlight the transformation from the start of the project to where it stands today.

Phil and his team have now completed the majority of the heavy lifting, and the finish line is in sight. Work will soon begin on the new external staircase, which will connect all three floors and add both practical functionality and architectural interest to the façade.

The cladding is almost complete at Panorama Parade, and the interior has just started—amazing to watch it all come together.

My daughter is now in her second year studying architecture, and I have enjoyed taking her along to site visits to see what the future could look like. It’s a great real-world experience alongside her studies!

The rags-to-riches renovation at 47 Seaview Road is really starting to take shape.

For the team at Superior Construction Ltd, this has been back-breaking work. The steep topography of the site, combined with the complexity of tying new structural steel into the original 50-year-old concrete and timber frame, has made it a challenging build. The original structure had been exposed to the elements for decades after construction stopped, so every step requires careful planning and craftsmanship.

We have huge respect for our clients, Phil and Dina, for taking on such a bold project and committing to bringing this home back to life. When complete, it will stand proudly on what is arguably one of the best streets in Auckland.

Always great to be back in Omaha and see the progress at Parry Court.

This has been a highly technical build, including the installation of a 12m clear-span beam to support the balcony roof. The team at QPC Builders Ltd are absolutely smashing it.

Here are a few photos that show the scale of the project and the incredible views from this three-level beach house.

It’s exciting to see the transformation taking shape at Panorama Parade. Building on a steep site has required significant engineering expertise — from detailed excavation and reinforced foundations to the carefully designed cantilevered balcony and roof structures that now define the home’s final silhouette.

With the cladding system nearly complete and only the rendering of the remaining blockwork areas to finish, the exterior form is really coming together. Once the scaffolding is removed, the architectural lines will be fully revealed, and the installation of the glass balustrades will further enhance both the aesthetic appeal and the uninterrupted views.

As we move into the final stages, with interior works progressing, it’s incredibly rewarding to see this project nearing completion and look forward to seeing our amazing clients enjoy the space they’ve envisioned.
