Spring growth is already getting out of hand!

Halfway through this commercial mow and the before-and-after is doing all the talking!

One side looking beautiful, the other looks like it hasn't seen a mower in months… It's only been two weeks! 🤯

Big machines, big areas, and those satisfying crisp lines!

HOW’S THIS FOR TWO WEEKS OF GROWTH?!

This is what spring growth looks like in Auckland today!

As temperatures rise and soil moisture levels are high, grass growth accelerates rapidly throughout spring.
This is a Ryegrass dominant space that has absolutely taken off since the last visit only 2 weeks ago!

And this here is why mowing frequency matters!

Leaving a fast-growing lawn or grassed area for too long means we're not simply cutting a little extra height — we're removing a much larger volume of leaf material in one go, which can put additional stress on the grass and equipment. It also makes achieving a clean finish much harder. This site took a triple cut to get to the last image which is amazing if you ask me but the thickest areas still dont look this great, luckily this is a commercial site and we are OCD when it comes to our work!

In Auckland, spring is when mowing schedules really start to tighten up, with weekly mowing becoming appropriate for many actively growing lawns.

Two weeks might not sound like long… but in spring, it can make a BIG difference!

From seriously overgrown to completely cleared.

This South Auckland property had been well and truly taken over, with invasive growth covering lawns, fence lines and roof areas.

The full clearance included removing and poison-pasting privet, cherry trees, ivy, jasmine, trumpet vine, moth plant and more, along with clearing extensive vine growth from around the property.

We then flail-mowed the remaining vegetation, manually excavated more than 3 inches of soil from the patios and pathways, and finished with a full site tidy.

The result? 15 tonnes of green waste removed, more sunlight reaching the home, and outdoor areas that are finally usable again.

A big job, but a seriously satisfying transformation.

Locally owned and operated, getting stuck into overgrown properties across Auckland.

SPRING IS HERE — TIME TO LET THE LAWN RENOVATION SEASON BEGUN!

With warmer temperatures, scattered showers and longer days arriving across Auckland, now is the perfect time to start thinking about renovating tired, thin or damaged lawns.

Two of the most popular lawn types we renovate and establish for Auckland homes are Tall Fescue and Bermuda Grass.
Each with its own advantages depending on your property, lifestyle and how you want your lawn to perform.

#1 TALL FESCUE
A great choice for homeowners wanting a lush, green lawn with good year-round appearance and simple maintenance.

Deep green, Dense and attractive appearance
Performs well in Auckland's cooler months
Good shade tolerance compared with many warm-season grasses
Deep-rooted and reasonably drought tolerant once established
Can handle regular family use
Ideal for homeowners wanting a lawn that stays greener through winter and survives regular family use

#2 BERMUDA GRASS
A extremely dense warm-season grass that really comes into its own through Auckland's hotter months.

Excellent heat and drought tolerance
Fast-growing and vigorous during summer
Handles heavy foot traffic very well
Self repairing, recovers quickly from wear and damage
Produces a dense, fine-textured lawn that can be cut extremely low
Excellent choice for sunny areas and high-use lawns

A QUALITY LAWN STARTS WITH THE PREPARATION

Our lawn renovations can include w**d control, scarifying, aeration, soil improvement, levelling, topdressing, fertilising and professional seed or turf establishment right through to complete renovations removal of old and installation of new seed or sod— depending on the desired result the option is yours.

Not sure which grass is right for your property?

We can assess your site and recommend the best suitable lawn type for you based on use, cost, location, usage and the level of maintenance you're prepared to put in.

Solid work ethic from the girls, showing the lads how it’s done!

Hannah spotted casually carrying the team doing all the hard mahi, while our onsite dedicated muscle subtly aquires the smallest piece of timber available. 😂

Winter is maintenance season... or at least it's supposed to be! 😅

We've been flat out keeping our clients' properties looking their best this winter, and inturn some of our small equipment maintenance has slipped a little further down the priority list than we'd like.

Case in point...
The first photo shows the amount of carbon build-up in the exhaust port of one of our small engines causing it to run as cooperativly as your 2 year old at bedtime!
The second photo is after a quick clean-out and suprise suprise shes now running like a cut cat!
It's amazing how much difference a bit of preventative maintenance can make to performance and reliability.

A good reminder that even the professionals don't always stay on top of their own maintenance schedule! 🫣
