Munich inspiration 🇩🇪

A standout kitchen spotted in Munich at Duggan Kitchen + Furnishings. Thank you to the team for the warm welcome and showroom tour.

The island immediately caught our attention, featuring ST-ONE by Strasser Steine beautifully applied to the drawer fronts, creating a striking monolithic look with exceptional detailing and craftsmanship.

Complementing the design was the seamless integration of a BORA cooktop on the island, reinforcing the clean lines and sophisticated functionality of the space.

A great example of how innovative materials and thoughtful design can elevate the heart of the home.

A touch of New Zealand design inspiration from Milan 🇳🇿 ✨

At EuroCucina, Fisher & Paykel’s Nature Ritual display showcased a thoughtful expression of New Zealand design — showcasing the State Of The Art Collection, it was appliance innovation with the warmth and authenticity of tōtara, one of New Zealand’s native timbers, alongside distinctive ceramic pieces by Aaron Scythe.

The experience extended beyond the visual, creating an immersive atmosphere that felt like stepping into a New Zealand forest — surrounded by native birdsong and natural ambience, adding another layer of connection to place, ritual, and home💖.

A beautifully curated space demonstrating how craftsmanship, materiality, nature, and technology can come together to create moments of connection and ritual within the home.

This week, we proudly celebrate 35 years since Kitchens By Design was established as a company.

A milestone like this is more than a number — it’s a moment to reflect, honour, and acknowledge the incredible people whose vision, dedication, and stewardship have shaped the business.

We recognise and acknowledge those who created, led, and curated the brand over the years prior; Linda Christensen, Sue Gillbanks, and Richard Cripps. Each have made invaluable contributions, building the brand and business over the years, and we are proud now to be continuing this legacy.

It’s important to also celebrate the talented, award winning designers who have been a part of our stewardship the past three years — Michelle Gillbanks, Marianne Gailer, and more recently Alina Cuchiliuc. While Marianne has now retired from designing, we acknowledge her time and tenure with KBD. Michelle has proudly been with KBD for over 10 years, always leading with great design.

For 35 years, Kitchens By Design has been built on creativity, passion, and the commitment of exceptional people.

Here’s to honouring our past, celebrating our present, and looking forward to the future.
