Today marks a historic moment for the Taupō rohe (region) as He Whare Hono ō Tūwharetoa officially opens its doors, bringing together Ngāti Tūwharetoa entities and Taupō District Council under one roof for the first time.

This pool area in Half Moon Bay has been completely transformed with new porcelain stair treads, copings and paving. We also installed a hidden pool cover box under the paving, so no unsightly pool covers exposed. It’s the little details that make this so good! 👍🏼

Crazy paving done right 👌

The organic shapes and natural texture of the paving contrast beautifully with the crisp, clean lines of the pool coping. That subtle shift in materials helps define the space — creating a clear transition from poolside to lounging and fire pit area while still feeling cohesive and relaxed.

It’s a simple design move that adds both visual interest and function, turning one outdoor area into distinct spaces to swim, relax and entertain.

Sometimes just a bit of love and care for existing pavers can make a space feel like new! We uplifted the cobblestones, gave them a good clean and relaid on even bedding. Old copings from the pool were removed, an additional bond beam added, with new stone copings and curbs. Not to mention these lovely words from our client ‘Mate I tell you what - this young fella you have here impresses the bejesus out of me. Really hard worker and he is out for accuracy. One out of the box…’. Always nice to hear this about our team!
