SORRY not the most exciting topic.... BUT light scratches are some of the hardest to photograph and show the net effect of a repair. When you have a premium floor you want a premium finish and scratches still catch the light and your eye when they're in inconvenient locations. Take this example and muliply by 30 and that was yesterday morning's workload!

Before and after photos don't always give a real feeling of how big the transformation was. This walnut table refinish just made you feel like you wanted to sit down next to it!!

Are we getting paranoid about AI? I was just accused of being AI myself. I spent all my Sunday morning following up on emails and quotes and then responded to some new enquiries that came in today. One was for a refinish of a small dining table. I had to estimate it's size and then gave two different pricing options and signed it personally as always. This is the reply I just got....

"Hi Grant using AI to answer this just lost you the job. Don't bother calling me. I've gone elsewhere."

I'm absolutely speechless. Has anyone else encountered something like this? Should I feel complimented? How can I distinguish myself from AI?

And even if I had used AI, the customer request was to get an accurate quote for refinishing a dining table. If this was achieved quickly then what was the huge affront?

I'd really like to understand more from this customer, but I guess I'll never know because they won't reply except for their automated reply " Kia Ora friend - I'm in Australia this week. I have my email being watched and will respond to important emails myself but may be delayed in doing so." ...... oh is that AI?

Walnut is back in fashion! This table had been in storage for a few years and looking a bit patchy from neglect. The refinish revealed its true nature and stunned the owners!

Feel the beauty in this table just waiting to be released! This large round macrocarpa table made with loving care by the owners father was battered and neglected over the years, but bought to life with some tender loving care... and a good Doctor.

Who doesn't love a classic kiwi native timber kitchen benchtop? They are really a joy to restore and give the kitchen a totally new feel while being a surprisingly low cost compared to replacement.
