Don't mind admitting it — we are kind of obsessed with making beautiful drawings.
It is how ideas travel from our studio to the people who'll build it. Especially when we are in one country and the project is in another.
We've learned that when the drawing is crafted, the finished thing is crafted too. Care in the detail carries all the way through.
So we take real trouble over them — the line weights, where the section is cut, every material named and resolved. These are a few from recent projects. To us they aren't just instructions. They're craft.

Here's something we should have done a long time ago.
Art of Fact has been designing museums, visitor experiences, and immersive story-led environments for nearly fifteen years. In that time we've worked on 89 projects — from giant new-build institutions to small, perfectly formed installations — across the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, New Zealand and beyond.

We've created experiences in ten languages and very diverse cultures. We've worked with brilliant architects and engineers, and built up a family of talented collaborators we're very proud to work alongside.

And we've barely said a word about any of it publicly.

That changes now. We're starting a series of posts sharing the work — the projects, the thinking, the creative process, and the people behind it. We hope you'll enjoy it. We are proud of what we have been creating.

We are Art of Fact, a visitor experience and exhibition design practice based in Auckland and working internationally.

We design museums, exhibitions, visitor centres, interpretive spaces and story-led public experiences.

Over the years we have worked on projects about science, sport, technology, food, history, nature, culture, cities, innovation and place. Some are large international projects. Others are smaller, highly detailed local stories.

What connects them all is a simple idea: stories become more powerful when people can step inside them.

We will be sharing more of our work here over the coming weeks — finished projects, behind-the-scenes images, design thinking, and some of the many lovely details that usually stay hidden in the studio archive.

As 2024 wraps up, we’re pausing to send some festive cheer your way!

It’s been a whirlwind year full of creativity, challenges, and big ideas.

Our studio has grown in more ways than one, thanks to the incredible clients and collaborators we’ve had the privilege of working alongside.

Looking ahead to 2025, we know the world is not entirely a harmonious place, yet for our part, we continue to do what we can, with creativity and care and wonderful people, to make the world a better place.

We are thrilled to announce that our My5G Portal has won yet another design award. This time the most prestigious design award in Malaysia, the MiiD Reka Award 2024 - Gold.

We are honored to announce that our My5G Portal Kuala Lumpur project, featuring the Smart City digital interactive installation, has been recognized as a Winner in the 2025 German Design Awards in the category of 'Excellent Communications Design' for 'Interactive User Experience'.

This recognition highlights the strong partnership developed between Art of Fact and iPartnership Malaysia, with the trust placed upon us by our valued client, Digital Nasional Berhad. We are grateful for their confidence in our vision in pushing the boundaries of innovation.

We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to physical & digital model maker Technibuilt Malaysia. Their dedication and expertise were essential in the successful ex*****on of this digital interactive installation.

In the memory of our design partner the late Indra Ramanathan of iPartnership, without whom this collaboration would not have existed.

We are truly honored and excited to share that our My5G Portal project has been named a finalist in two categories—Spatial and Digital—at the 2024 Best Design Awards, hosted by the Designers Institute of New Zealand.

This recognition is a reflection of the incredible collaboration with iPartnership Malaysia and the trust and support of our valued client, Digital Nasional Berhad, who believed in our vision and encouraged us to push the boundaries of innovation.

We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our design and build contractors, PLM Interiors and Thinkscape Group Malaysia, whose dedication and expertise were vital in bringing this project to life.

Video of the unique immersive digital interactive exhibit that brings together each of the 5G core concepts into a real-world environment.� Visitors interact with the flow of 5G data using large, moveable transparent ‘heads-up’ displays, paired with projection mapped animations.
