Westgate Zone 6 is the largest project Formsteel has delivered.

Five buildings, 39 tenancies, 22,122m² of net rentable area across 3.24 hectares. One of them is the largest Kmart in New Zealand.

It is the fourth project Formsteel has delivered for NZ Retail Property Group, after Foodie Supermarket, Northside and the Maki Street Commercial Development. Structural design through to site delivery, with eight major subcontractors under Formsteel management.

Foodie Supermarket in Westgate, Auckland was redesigned around Formsteel SuperSpan after originally being consented in traditional structural steel.

The 6,500m² supermarket features approximately 34m clear spans and was delivered with less steel, without changing the shop layout.

Formsteel delivered the complete envelope, from structural steel through to roofing, cladding and flashings.

The floor's been poured this week on Egmont Honey's new building, the first big milestone on a build that will support the next stage of their operation.

Egmont Honey, part of Taranaki since 2008, with hives across the region and honey heading to markets around the world.

New Zealand opened its doors today. 6,700m2, trading 24 hours a day, and more than 200 jobs for Westgate.
We're proud to have built it. Our SuperSpan system means bigger clearspans and fewer columns, so Kmart got more open floor to fit out however they wanted.
Getting a building like this open takes a lot of people. Congratulations to Kmart New Zealand , to NZRPG, and to every team on site.

Helisika have been flying out of Ardmore since 1995. Aerial firefighting. Kauri dieback protection. Hut maintenance in country you cannot drive to.

Their new 2,250m2 hangar gives them room to grow. A 17.39 metre door, with two level office alongside.

The clever part is underneath. Ardmore is old swamp country, peat in places, firm clay in others. One foundation is engineered for both.

Yesterday, Porter Group CE shouted lunch for our team and contractors at Zone 6, Westgate. The BBQ got rave reviews. More importantly, it's a reminder of what real partnerships look like.
