Our exterior remediation project in Auckland is a great example of how Reech approaches remediation projects.
Our process began with early involvement with our clients, identifying weather-tightness concerns, failures and undertaking a detailed investigation alongside a building surveyor and architect to understand the extent of the issues.
We worked through the design, engineering, and consenting process to ensure every item and risk was identified and addressed correctly to ensure it is covered with a 10 year halo guarantee.
This was achieved by reducing the envelope complexity, lowering the overall risk matrix score and placing the cladding on a vented cavity.
Onsite, the project is being carefully staged through a structured remediation plan and methodology.
Scaffolding and shrink-wrap protection are installed to protect the building while works progress during winter.
All framing is exposed, assessed marked out and remediated in accordance with the approved methodology. Untreated framing is brought up to the durability standards with correct timber treatment.
The opportunity has been taken to significantly improve its future performance and long term value with modern thermally broken joinery, lightweight weatherboard cladding and colour steel roofing upgrades.
Alongside other improvements throughout the home.
We ❤️ family homes.
