This week our team carried out thermal imaging and RCD testing as part of a client's preventative maintenance programme.

From the outside, everything looked normal. But the thermal camera picked up an overheating connection that wasn't visible to the eye. Left unchecked, it could have led to equipment failure and unexpected downtime.

These inspections aren't about finding work that doesn't exist. They're about identifying small issues before they become expensive ones.

It's one of those jobs where the best outcome is often that nothing happens at all because the problem was found early.

Breakers don't trip for no reason.

This is what happens when you keep resetting a tripping breaker 👇

Client said the power kept tripping…
So naturally — it kept getting turned back on.

Until there was a bang in the wall.

We checked the switchboard — all looked fine.
But something wasn’t adding up.

Dug a little deeper and found the real issue…

👉 A cable had been cut and left live inside the wall
👉 Every reset made it worse
👉 Eventually it burnt out completely

By the time we got to it:
⚠️ Copper was gone
⚠️ Connection failed
⚠️ Fire risk was real

We made it safe and got everything back up and running — but it could’ve gone very differently.

Here’s the truth:
A breaker tripping isn’t the problem… it’s the warning.

If it trips once, fine.
If it keeps happening — stop resetting it.

That’s when you call someone.
