Some buildings are a little harder to deliver than others…

This purpose-built switchroom was one of the largest our team had delivered at the time – and getting it from factory to site was a project in itself. From early design and engineering collaboration through to specialist transport, cranage and installation, there was plenty happening behind the scenes to get this one safely into position.

Once on site, our team completed the finishing works including stairs, landings, handrails, weather protection, vermin-proofing and fire suppression, ready for the specialist switchgear fit-out. A complex build, an impressive location and a pretty satisfying result.
Sometimes modular goes well beyond what you might expect.

It was a very big week for Addington Te Kura Taumatua as we installed the modular for their new two storey school.

It is fair to say the School have been so excited to see the buildings come to site so much so Alex pulls up a chair and interrogates the site team daily. He is a future project manager and the School says he's never been more engaged in learning.

The scenic route wasn't optional. But we're not complaining.

From Cromwell to Walter Peak, these hire buildings had one of the best commutes in New Zealand. A long drive, incredible scenery and another successful delivery - proof that we'll go wherever the project takes us.

When the picking season approaches, having the right accommodation in place isn't just important - it's essential. For two horticulture sites, Portacom delivered practical workforce accommodation solutions designed to support growing seasonal teams. From additional RSE accommodation to a purpose-built laundry facility, every building was delivered on time, on budget and ready when it mattered most.

🎪 Welcome to the Carnival 🎪

Recently the Portacom team and their whānau came together for a family fun day packed with jumping castles, face painting, food trucks and plenty of laughs along the way.

From carnival games, animal farms and good vibes, it was a great chance to step away from the day-to-day and celebrate the people behind the projects.

Big things are happening at Te Poroa School.

This project is about more than just new classrooms - it’s about creating modern, flexible spaces that support a growing kura and its community for years to come. From staged delivery and temporary learning spaces to cultural design elements woven throughout the site, this one has been a true team effort.
