🛠️ Meet Lachie! 🛠️

Introducing Lachie, he is an Apprentice here at Pearce Builders! He’s been part of the team since mid 2024. His favourite part of the job? Making the team laugh and trust us, he’s very committed to that role. 🤭

🛠️ Meet Harrison! 🛠️

Introducing Harrison, our newest but experienced Leading Hand here at Pearce Builders! Joining the team in late September this year. His favourite part of the role? The variety of day-to-day work and being outdoors.

🎶 Fun fact: He can Mongolian throat sing and play the didgeridoo. At least if the building gig doesn’t work out you’ve got a backup.

Introducing Wessel — our newest Apprentice here at Pearce Builders! He joined the team in late 2024. His favourite part of the role? Learning all the new things and putting them straight into action.

🛠️ Meet Sam! 🛠️

Introducing Sam another Leading Hand here at Pearce Builders! He’s been part of the team since 2020, and his favourite part of the role? Making Lachie clean up after him… especially his shoes.

🏆 Favourite way to spend a weekend: Winning the Meads Cup (casual).
😌 Fun fact: He’s actually never wrong. 🤔
🏗️ Favourite stage of a build: Trusses, because when else can you drop your tape measure off the roof six times and call it “part of the process”?
✏️ Favourite tool: His pencil.
🛏️ Favourite local spot: His bedroom, specifically his bed.
🥤 Favourite cocktail: Never had one, but he’ll happily mix every McDonald’s fizzy flavour into one cup and call it “gourmet.”
🍰 Favourite smoko food: A Harvey’s Bakehouse custard square.
👷‍♂️ The team in three words: Special, young, charismatic (and depending on the day, maybe a few other words like baffled 😅)

Whether he’s leading the team or leading Lachie back to the broom, Sam’s got a talent for keeping the jobs moving. 🤝🏃‍♂️‍💨

🛠️ Meet Regan! 🛠️
Regan is one of our Apprentices here at Pearce Builders! Since joining the crew in 2023, he’s been hands-on, learning the ropes, and keeping everyone on their toes. His favourite part of the job? Having Jonty tell him what to do — though we’re not sure how much he listens.

🏌️‍♂️ Favourite way to spend a weekend: Playing golf, doing a bit of hunting and fishing.
🦴 Fun fact: Has dislocated his shoulder three times and even had surgery.
🚪 Favourite stage of a build: Doors, architraves, and skirting.
🧹 Favourite tool: The vacuum cleaner — keeping the site spotless while Jonty makes the mess 😆

🍸 Favourite cocktail: Cleavers Classic (Maybe Regan is shouting the next round)

Scott is our Foreman here at Pearce Builders! He’s been part of the team for “I think 5 years in February, right Bee?” His favourite part of the role? The variety.

⛳ Favourite way to spend a weekend: Playing golf and fighting fires (as you do).
👀 Fun fact: He has two different coloured eyes.
🪜 Favourite stage of a build: Frame & truss or house fit-offs.
🔨 Favourite tool: The nail gun (simple, reliable, gets the job done).
🍻 Favourite local spot: Cleavers Corner.
🍺 Favourite cocktail: Not a cocktail guy, but he’ll happily take an Emersons Pilsner.
🍣 Favourite smoko food: Green sushi or Subway; depends on the day.
👷‍♂️ The team in three words: Mates, fun and jokers.

Scott brings the skills, keeps the banter flowing and proudly holds the title of Jonty’s favourite tool. (But we think he means boss 🤔)

🦺 Meet Jonty! 🦺
Jonty is one of our Leading Hands here at Pearce Builders! He’s been part of the crew since 2020, and let’s just say… the place wouldn’t run quite the same without him. (Mainly because his favourite part of the job is telling Regan what to do).

🌊 Favourite way to spend a weekend: Diving in Akaroa for crayfish.
🦴 Fun fact: Has never broken a bone… yet. (Touch wood, Jonty)
🏗️ Favourite stage of a build: Trusses because you get to see a lot of progress in a short amount of time.
🧰 Favourite tool: “If I’m not allowed to put Scott Marshall, then I guess it’s a blower.”

Whether he’s cracking jokes, setting the pace on-site, or keeping Regan in line, Jonty keeps the task moving.

Paul is our Estimator here at Pearce Builders! He’s been part of the team since early 2023, keeping our numbers sharp and our projects on point. His favourite part of the role is the variation day to day.

A bit more about Paul 👇
🐶 Favourite way to spend a weekend: Spending time with my family and my dog
⛳ Favourite hobbies: Playing golf and getting in the garden… both excellent excuses to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.
🏡 Favourite home design trend: Smart home integrated systems (who doesn’t love a house that listens better than the kids?)
📍 Favourite local spot: My home or the golf course.
😅 Fun fact: Fell off a ladder 20 years ago, 5 meters high at least and has a survived to tell the story. Its a good one ask him about it one day.

🏗️ Meet Steve

Steve is our Director & Project Manager here at Milestone Homes Mid Canterbury. He’s the other half to the husband/wife duo, opening the franchise in 2021. When he’s not at Milestone you can bet he's with the Pearce Builders team, which he’s owned and operated since 2011.

A bit more about Steve 👇
🔹 3 words to describe himself: Driven, Motivated, Provider.
🌿 Favourite local spot: The river, because it reminds him of farm life with no one around.
🥃 Favourite cocktail: Not a cocktail guy… just a good bourbon.
🚜 Favourite tool: His excavator.
🏆 Fun fact: In his younger days, Steve placed 1st in the NZ Farm Cadet Competition sponsored by Suzuki, walking away with a 4-wheeler and a trailer.
🌙 Favourite way to spend a weekend: On the excavator, spending time with his wife, and getting out hunting with night shooting being the highlight.
🏡 Favourite home design trend: Outdoor living spaces. He’s a big fan of the endless options and has a soft spot for rounded alfresco areas.

If you ever hear an excavator before you see him, don’t worry that just means Steve’s already three steps ahead on your build. 😉

Pearce Builders is a proudly local, family-run construction company known for delivering high-quality renovations and residential new builds across Mid Canterbury. We’re growing and looking for a motivated, skilled Qualified Builder to join our close-knit team.

What we’re after:
We’re on the hunt for someone who’s not just handy on the tools, but also confident leading a team on-site. The ideal candidate will have:
✅ A current NZ Trade Qualification in Carpentry
✅ At least 2 years’ experience on residential projects
✅ Solid knowledge of renovations and new residential construction
✅ A keen eye for detail and strong communication skills
✅ A good work ethic and commitment to health & safety
✅ A full NZ driver’s licence

What you’ll be doing:
• Leading small teams on renovations and new builds
• Interpreting plans and ensuring high-quality workmanship
• Communicating with subcontractors and site managers
• Mentoring apprentices and supporting team development
