We came across this old “Kidikiti Bank” Ten Shillings note tucked away during a renovation.
We haven’t been able to find much information about it, so we thought we’d put it out there to the local history buffs! 👀
Does anyone recognise it or know the story behind Kidikiti Bank? We’d love to know when it was made, what it was used for, or where it came from.

Due to an ever-increasing workload, Smith & Sons Ashburton is looking for Builders to join our team. We're on the hunt for qualified Carpenters – the key is finding the right people who will fit our team culture.

We’re looking for candidates who:
✅ Have renovation/building experience
✅ Take pride in high-quality work
✅ Are motivated, reliable, and team-oriented
✅ Have their own tools (or working towards)
✅ Hold a full NZ driver’s licence
✅ Value health & safety on site
✅ Enjoy working with a close-knit, family-style team
✅ Have NZ residency or a valid work visa

Qualified applicants will also ideally:
🔹 Be able to lead or supervise apprentices/labourers
🔹 Have experience across a variety of renovation projects

Because one in nine New Zealand women will be told she has breast cancer, and for our network that's not a statistic. It's personal for us at the top, and it's personal in nearly every office.
Breast Cancer Cure funds New Zealand research aimed at one thing: a cure. This October, all 22 Smith & Sons offices are getting behind them. Your local crew will have the details from 1 October.
