Slab prep underway in Gibbston and it’s got all the right ingredients — crisp Central morning, fresh project on the go, and that unmistakable roar rolling through the valley while the big fellas get to work. 🦌 /👷🏽

Another great effort from the crew on this one — early start, heads down, getting the prep dialled so this build kicks off right.

It’s the team behind it all that makes these projects happen, and we’ve got a bloody good one. 👏🏼

Big day on site in Gibbston 🏗️

At TCC we love a good excuse to bring out the big machines… so we called the crew at Smith Cranes to work their magic and lift this lovely lady into place.

This beauty arrived in style, delicately lifted into position with the Gibbston hills putting on a pretty spectacular backdrop. 😍

Our team have loved working on this project — from our excellent clients, to the epic views, and the smokos (which I have been told are pretty good), all marking this as another project to remember 👌

Another milestone ticked off and we’re excited to see this stage come together.

It’s a stunning day in Ophir and the perfect moment to finally get this roof lifted into place! ☀️🏗️

Huge shoutout to clydehiab for their skill and steady hands – absolute legends. And of course, a massive thank you to our incredible team for the hard mahi getting us to this point.

From prepping the roofing on the ground (because… Ophir winds 😅) to today’s lift, it’s been a mission, but what a feeling seeing it all come together.

Onwards and upwards – literally! 🙌

You might be wondering… “Are they going to be installing roofing iron on the ground?”

Yes. Yes we are! 😅

When you’re building in one of the most beautiful — but definitely one of the windiest — spots in Central Otago, you rethink a few things.

Up here, trying to install the roof in the air is like trying to wrestle a kite in a gale.

So we’ve assembled everything safely at ground level, ready for the Hiab to lift it into place.

In a perfect world, this post would have been an epic Hiab video… the roof is set to boogie.

But you guessed it — the wind had other ideas and Tom didn’t send me a finished picture. So the big lift is on hold until things calm their farm 🤣

Stay tuned — once the breeze behaves, we’ll have one very satisfying Hiab moment to share!

Sometimes in construction, things don't go to plan - and this is the result of one of those days.

After a long prep, this slab had to be completely redone due to unexpected weather that rolled in out of nowhere. Gale-force winds are not anyone's friend, especially a builders and despite our best efforts, Mother Nature won this round.

It's not an ideal situation - far from it really (it nearly brought us to tears if we're being honest).

You can spot the original mesh and underfloor (it did a 360) in the first image, the second image is what we arrived on site to see on that particularly challenging day... humbling.

It’s a tough reminder, but one worth reflecting on and sharing because although most of our days are great, some of them aren't.

These moments don't happen often, but when they do, they teach you a lot.

Ophir slab prep underway! 🏔️
It’s been a true display of Central Otago weather on this project, we’ve had rain, snow, and sun 🌦️❄️☀️
The boys have just kept cracking on, no dramas. 🎭Couple of soggy socks, a few dodgy jokes, and we’re nearly ready to pour. Bloody good effort team! 💪😂
Once again a big S/O to the crew at total_foundationsolutions for delivering on the goods. 😘

After an early start, we’ve managed to get this project onto the next milestone in near record time. 👌🏼

The roof’s on, the views are unbeatable, and the momentum is strong… time for the roof shout, maybe? 🍌

It’s a hive of activity in Gibbston this morning as the team were up well before the birds to get set for a big day of roofing. 🐦

With ominous clouds rolling in and wind expected to pick up later, the push is on to get this roof on.

As always, it’s not just about speed — craftsmanship and safety are front of mind to make sure the job is done right. 🦺👷🏼‍♂️
