And his wife hath made herself ready//
An evangelical congregation with a
parish house built 1949, rebuilt in 1961. The building’s design has been presented in both neoclassical and modernist guise in the period from 1945 to 1961.
The sketches show new facades in a neoclassical style. The building has been slightly extended and an extension from ‘61 has been removed. Social activities on the ground floor and basement. Auditorium/concert hall on the first floor.
The entire outdoor area has been given a park-like design with upright pine trees in an open forest floor.
The house has got a new main entrance that is both part of a large sunny courtyard and better oriented towards the city center, compared to the current situation where the entrance is on the north side.
An overall goal during the sketching work has been to give the building and surrounding area an expression that describes the congregation better than what we see today.
