Elegantie, functionaliteit, het samenbrengen van verschillende kleuren en materialen zijn zeker de kernmerken van mijn interieurdesigns. Bij mijn architectonische projecten ga ik altijd voor het samenspel tussen architectuur en de omgeving waarin de woning zich bevindt. Elk ontwerp is een verhaal van verschillende elementen die iets unieks vertellen over mijn cliënten. Ik ontwerp graag de beeldbepalende meubels voor een woning. Hier komt mijn Italiaanse afkomst naar boven.

What does it mean to be Italian?
This was the question behind my design for the new meeting room of the Italian Embassy in the Netherlands.

I wanted the space to express a strong and recognisable Italian identity, without relying on clichés.
Elegance, creativity, design culture and our extraordinary architectural heritage became the starting points for the concept.

The challenge was to create an institutional space with authority, but without austerity. A meeting room that feels sophisticated and representative, while remaining warm and welcoming.
Deep w**e tones, warm wood, tactile materials and carefully integrated technology define the space, while the long bespoke table becomes its architectural centre.

For me, Italian design has never been simply about beauty. It is about proportion, material, craftsmanship and the ability to transform function into experience.

An Italy that is confident and sophisticated, perfectly aware of its charm and intelligence. An Italy that knows how to enter a room and be noticed, yet never needs to shout.
This is the Italy I wanted to represent through architecture.

What do fashion and interiors have in common? More than you might think.

Colours, textures, patterns and materials move between the way we dress and the way we live. But following trends doesn’t necessarily mean replacing what we already have.

A vintage sofa, an old marble floor, contrasting patterns or an unexpected colour combination can become the starting point for something completely new.

Just as in fashion, it’s all about layering, contrast and having the courage to reinterpret what we already love.

A harmonious palette can completely transform the atmosphere of a kitchen.

This bespoke design brings together a beige terrazzo worktop enriched with green terrazzo chips, warm beige cabinetry, and sophisticated accents in burgundy and soft blush pink. Natural materials, refined contrasts, and carefully balanced colours create a contemporary kitchen with a timeless elegance.

A space designed not only to be beautiful, but to be lived in.

You might think that colour was the starting point of this project.

It wasn’t.

The true foundation of this villa was the way people would experience and move through the spaces. Creating a home without barriers, where every room flows naturally into the next, and where daily life remains comfortable and accessible, even if one day a wheelchair becomes part of that life.

Space always comes first.

The relationship between the interior and its surroundings, the circulation, and a layout tailored to the people who will live there are the principles that guide every project I design.

Only afterwards come colour, materials and textures.

That doesn’t make them less important. Quite the opposite. I never see them as simple finishes applied to surfaces, but as architectural volumes that shape the character, atmosphere and identity of the space.

This is, in my view, one of the essential differences between an architect and an interior designer.

Two different perspectives.

Two different design languages.

One shared goal: creating a home that is truly designed around the people who live in it.

Can a space communicate the culture of a country before a single word is spoken?

I believe it can.

This was the guiding idea behind my winning design proposal for a multimedia meeting room for an institutional organisation in The Hague.

The challenge was not simply to create a functional meeting space, but to translate identity into architecture. To design an environment that feels welcoming, authoritative and unmistakably Italian, without relying on clichés.

Every decision, from the spatial composition to the materials, lighting and custom designed furniture, was made to create an atmosphere that speaks through elegance, proportion and detail.

Because architecture is often the first conversation a space has with its visitors.

Reusing doesn’t mean compromising on beauty. It means recognizing the value of what already exists and giving it a new purpose.

This, too, is architecture.

For the new Voedselbank De Ronde Venen shop, we began by carefully assessing everything that could be reused. Existing furniture was integrated with new pieces, some generously donated and others adapted or custom made where needed.

The spatial layout, the thoughtful selection of colours and materials, and the coordination of every design decision gave this space its own identity. It proves that even with limited resources, it is possible to create environments that are welcoming, dignified and full of warmth.

This project was my small contribution to those who dedicate their time and energy every day to supporting people facing difficult circumstances.

Because architecture is not only about buildings. Above all, it is about people.

Can a glass partition become the protagonist of a space?

Three glass partitions. Three different styles. Three different atmospheres.

One in deep blue steel.
One in warm copper tones.
One in elegant brass.

Their function is the same: bringing natural light into transitional spaces, while becoming a focal point that captures the eye and gives character to the interior.

In my projects, glass partitions move beyond the industrial aesthetic that has dominated interior design in recent years. They become design objects in their own right, enriching the quality of a space through light, proportions, materials and detail.

Almost theatrical in their presence, they are never chosen by chance. Each design is developed to reflect the mood, architecture and personality of the home, creating a seamless dialogue between function and beauty.

Because even a passageway can become a memorable space.

Would you live in a home like this?

A home where colour tells a story.
Warm terracotta walls embrace the space. A glossy blush pink kitchen with a wide island becomes the heart of daily life. White veined marble flows seamlessly from the worktop into the bespoke bookcase. Hungarian point oak parquet adds timeless elegance underfoot.
 Navy blue steel doors and custom cabinetry create depth and character.
Beyond the glass, a lush garden invites nature inside.

And, of course, there is a cat quietly claiming ownership of the entire house.

The design of a multimedia meeting room for an institutional organisation in The Hague.
An ambitious project aimed at representing Italy through its authority, culture and identity beyond the usual clichés.

Three Italian design studios based in the Netherlands were selected for this competition.
Mine was one of them.

What defines Italy?
Elegance. Layered architecture. A rich history and gastronomic heritage. Forward-thinking design.
Italy is like the woman who enters a room and effortlessly captures everyone’s attention: refined, intelligent, witty.

This is the Italy I chose to tell.
And this is the Italy that won.
