Building the future of sustainable greenhouse horticulture ๐ŸŒฑ

A major milestone at WUR Bleiswijk: the double-insulated glass has been installed in the iconic entrance faรงade, revealing the distinctive design by Van Bergen Kolpa Architects. Concrete floors are now being poured, while the glass roof with integrated solar panels is taking shape.

๐ŸŒฟ Rainy weather on opening day at Botanical Garden Flora in Cologne, but the new Tropical greenhouse proved exactly why botanical gardens invest in these exceptional environments.

๐ŸŒฟ Opening this Friday at Flora Cologne!

The new Tropical Glasshouse was created to provide ideal conditions for 6,000 rare and endangered plant species while offering visitors an inspiring experience throughout the year.

With 4,500 mยฒ of insulated glass, a lightweight structure and carefully controlled climate conditions, it is a remarkable addition to one of Germanyโ€™s leading botanical gardens.

Everything looked fantastic during our recent maintenance visit. We can't wait for visitors to discover it.
