Pressurisation (Ex p) – EN 60079-2:

This method of protection has the benefits of Flameproof but does not require a specialised enclosure, generally a standard Industrial enclosure is suitable.

The only drawback of Pressurisation is that it requires a supply of protective gas, usually air, to purge the enclosure and keep it pressurised. The supply of purging and pressurising air is managed by a special control unit. Usually this is easier to purchase as a component ATEX/EX certified item.

There is a choice of several units on the market but for special applications, Atexxo Manufacturing prefers to design a custom model.

One advantage of purging and pressurising is that this protection concept also accommodates possible internal releases of flammable gas, vapour or liquid. This is relevant for analysers or other equipment that have a flammable liquid or gases passing through it.

Important Design Parameters:

* Strength of the enclosure. The enclosure must be able to withstand 1.5 times the pressure of the gas inside it.
* The enclosure must be purged before the electrical equipment is energized.
* Shut-down or alarm in the event of the flow of the protective gas or the overpressure failing.

Applications:

Electrical equipment whose normal operation involves sparks, arcing, or hot components and complex industrial standard equipment (controllers) whose protection type enables them to be operated in hazardous areas. Large machines, slip ring or collector motors, switchgear and control gear cabinets, and analysis devices.

Principle:

All generalized requirements applicable to the electrical equipment are summarized in this standard. The standards relating to the different types of protection may supplement these requirements. Protection requirements relating to other sources of ignition are to be added.

The general temperature range for the use of explosion protected electrical equipment is given as –20…+40°C. Permissible extensions or restrictions of the temperature range are to be indicated.

Marking:

The rules for marking the electrical equipment are uniformly laid down in the standards relating to general technical requirements.

The marking must indicate the following:

* The manufacturer who has put the item of electrical equipment on the market and who must be able to identify it.
* The type or types of protection the item of electrical equipment conforms to.
* The temperature class for which it is suitable.
* The explosion hazard group or subgroup applicable to the item of electrical equipment.
* The test center issuing the test certificate.
* Any special conditions that have to be observed.
* The standard or revision of the standard applicable to the item of electrical equipment.

The Flameproof ATEX protection concept is providing a strong and closely fitting enclosure to protect its contents. The enclosure must be capable of containing an potential explosion. Any electronic sparking equipment may be placed in an flameproof enclosure, however there are some restrictions for fluids and batteries and minimum requirements for internal free space.

Flameproof protection lends itself to utilising off-the-shelf parts for the contents, for example electronic control boards or pcb’s. The enclosures can either be custom designed or standard. Using a standard certified Flameproof enclosure removes any uncertainty about its integrity. For operator control, cerfified components for example pushbuttons, can be fitted to an enclosure.

Generally flameproof enclosures are made of cast iron or die cast aluminium, making them quite heavy. They are generally small to medium size because the casting process is more expensive as the size increases and the subsequent weight makes installation difficult.

Plastic enclosures can be designed to meet ATEX flameproof construction and strength requirements. Usually plastic enclosures are quite small because they have to have thicker wall sections, compared to a metal counterpart, to withstand the explosion pressure.

A metal enclosure is usually cheaper to manufacture.

Atexxo Manufacturing B.V. heeft naast ATEX air conditioners van het merk Daikin nu ook ATEX Explosieveilige 50/60 Hz modellen van Toshiba in haar productrange opgenomen.

De Airco units zijn evenals de units van Daikin geschikt voor toepassing in 3G Zone 2 gas/damp explosiegevaarlijke omgeving. Leverbaar van 2,5kW tot 20kW in single of multi split uitvoering. Buitendelen en/of binnendelen kunnen op verzoek ook los worden besteld.

De units worden toegepast in offhore omgevingen in de petrochemische industrie of op tankerschepen.
Door slim toegepaste explosieveiligetechnieken blijven vrijwel alle gebruiks- en installatiegemakken van het originele product gehandhaafd.

De ATEX airconditioners zijn explosieveilig en gecertificeerd in overeenstemming met de Europese richtlijn 94/9/EG ATEX 95.
Op verzoek produceren en certificeren wij tevens ATEX Explosieveilige varianten van andere merken als Toshiba, Mitsubishi of Carrier met, geleverd met ATEX certificaat. Voor explosieveilige HVAC producten als Multi Split Units of ATEX VRV/VRF systemen kunt u contact met ons opnemen.

Atexxo Manufacturing B.V. gaat overeenkomst aan met BIMED TEKNIK.

BIMED is een toonaangevende producent van EX kabelwartels met ATEX IECEX en Martitieme DNV GL typegoedkeur. ATEX en IECEX kabel wartels met maritieme typegoedkeuring van DNV GL (Det Norske Veritas) worden toepast in offshore en on-shore petro(chemische) industrie en in omgevingen waar gas en stof explosiegevaar heerst.

Ze zijn verkrijgbaar voor vrijwel alle type kabels zowel voor ongewapend “normale” kabels als voor gewapende/ gearmeerde kabels. type SWA, SWB, STA, PWA, AWA en shielded EMC.

Atexxo Manufacturing B.V. is begonnen met de productie van een nieuwe variant van de succesvolle EX-LED type 6800 serie. De nieuwe EX-LED van Atexxo Manufacturing B.V. is even als zijn voorganger geschikt voor toepassing in explosiegevaarlijke omgeving 3GD ATEX Zone 2 en Zone 22.
Ten opzichte van het voorgaande model is de IP waarde verhoogd van IP66 naar IP68.

Naast spatwater dichtheid zijn de explosieveilige ATEX LED lampen nu tevens onderdompelbaar. Dat maakt ze naast industriële toepassingen waar stof of gas explosiegevaar heerst, ook uitermate geschikt voor ATEX offshore en maritieme toepassingen. De explosieveilige EX led-driver is verder geschikt gemaakt voor een bredere input van 90 tot 300 VAC en 50/60Hz. Dit maakt de EX-LED lamp geschikt voor zowel 110 V als 230 V systemen.
De nieuwe EX-LED van Atexxo Manufacturing B.V. is evenals het voorgaande model schok en vibratiebestendig, onderhoudsvrij en heeft tussen de 50.000 en 100.000 branduren.
Naast de 80W en 120W is hij tevens beschikbaar als 40 W uitvoering.
(40 W LED staat gelijk aan 200 W halogeen)

Met de introductie van de nieuw EX-LED verstevigd Atexxo Manufacturing B.V. haar positie als fabrikant van hoge kwaliteit en betaalbare explosieveilige ATEX producten.

Atexxo Manufacturing B.V. heeft een explosieveilige airconditioner ontwikkeld die geschikt is voor gebruik in gas explosiegevaarlijke omgeving 3G ATEX Zone 2.

De ATEX split units worden toegepast in offshore omgeving, petrochemie, tankschepen of algemene industrie waar gas explosiegevaar heerst. De explosieveilige airco’s zijn verkrijgbaar in vermogens van 2.5 tot 20kW. De sets bestaan uit goedgekeurd voor 3G, Zone 2, ATEX buitenunit, EX binnenunit en EX afstandsbediening.

Als basis wordt gebruik gemaakt van een Europees inverter type van het merk Daikin. Deze Airco Split Units zijn uitgerust met warmtepomp functie, geschikt voor zowel verwarmen als koelen. Door slim toegepaste explosieveilige technieken blijven vrijwel alle gebruiks- en installatiegemakken van het originele product gehandhaafd.
Andere type air conditioners van merken als Toshiba, Mitsubishi of Carrier kunnen op verzoek tevens worden omgebouwd naar ATEX 3G, Zone 2 explosieveilige varianten.
