Back to campus 🎓

With the academic year officially underway, we’re revisiting Haven: a residential campus at , completed in 2024.

Home to 735 students, Haven offers generous ceiling heights, plenty of daylight and shared spaces for activities, meeting and cooking together.

Two years later, that thinking continues to inform our work at TU/e as we develop The Common Grounds, a new temporary campus neighbourhood for the next generation of students.

VenhoevenCS on tour 🇧🇪

Last weekend, we swapped the studio for a few days together in Belgium.

With Dirk Coopman’s Au dessus du Bie in the Ardennes as our home for the weekend, we set out to explore architecture, landscapes and cities along the way. From Sportspark Genk and Dinant to a walk through Namur, before ending the weekend in Antwerp with a tour of PAKT and the Groen Kwartier.

A few days of seeing places together, walking, talking, sharing meals and spending time outside the office.

Thanks to everyone who welcomed us along the way — and to the whole team for a great weekend.

📘 What can two decades of research by design tell us?

From MicroCity, an evolving study that began in 2004, to Highway x City Utrecht, Stad x Ruimte and the recently completed Afslag Meerwaarde: several of our research-by-design projects are featured in three new publications.

De Gids – Ontwerpen aan onze toekomst
Building Futures
Integrated Infrastructure Design Guide

Together, the publications show how design can help us explore complex spatial challenges and connect infrastructure, cities and public space.
