When we see a newly constructed road, our attention often goes to the smooth asphalt surface. But what many people don’t realize is that the real strength of any pavement lies beneath the surface — especially in the base layer.
Unfortunately, one of the biggest causes of early road failure is the use of a thin or inadequate base during construction. And the consequences can be costly, dangerous, and long-term.

A thin base layer cannot properly distribute the load of vehicles to the sub-base and subgrade. This leads to:
