🐝⛑️ HE THOUGHT HE WAS HOLDING A LADDER... THEN CONCRETE AND BEES CAME DOWN.
A falling piece of concrete carrying a beehive struck the worker on the head while he was holding the ladder—without a safety helmet. Within seconds, he was running from both the impact and the angry bees.
It may look funny on video, but it highlights a serious lesson:
✔ Always inspect overhead work before starting. ✔ Watch for hidden hazards like loose concrete, nests and debris. ✔ Wear your PPE—especially a safety helmet. ✔ Never stand directly beneath work being carried out above you.
Construction sites are full of hazards you can see... and some you can't. Your PPE may be the only thing standing between you and a serious injury.
Safety isn't luck—it's preparation.

🚨 THE FIRST SIGN OF A FAILING CONCRETE FASCIA ISN'T A CRACK... IT'S POOR PREPARATION.
Before casting your concrete fascia, don't just mix concrete—inspect everything.
✔ Ensure the formwork matches the approved drawings in height, width and alignment.
✔ Confirm reinforcement is correctly detailed, securely tied and properly anchored into adjoining beams and columns.
✔ Never reduce the fascia beam depth for aesthetics. Structural safety must always come first.
✔ Use roof ties where specified to securely connect the roof structure and improve resistance to wind uplift.
✔ Check the weather forecast. A few hours of rain can undo days of work.
✔ For better stability and alignment, cast the fascia beam first, allow it to gain strength, then cast the fascia body.
✔ Use 12.5 mm (½") granite for better compaction in slender sections.
Remember: A concrete fascia is more than a finishing detail—it's part of your building's structural system. What you don't inspect before casting may become what you regret after casting.
Quality is built before the concrete is poured.

In this project, the front balcony parapet is designed to be 6 inches higher than the adjacent sections. Instead of making every parapet the same height, we're carefully setting the formwork to match the approved architectural drawings. The stair hall and other matching elevations are also being checked to ensure they are perfectly aligned, plumb and consistent.
This is why formwork isn't just carpentry—it's precision engineering.
