BOGGA Pays Courtesy Visit to RUWASA, Strengthens Partnership for a Greener Borno
As part of its stakeholder engagement and environmental sustainability drive, the Borno Green Growers Association (BOGGA) paid a courtesy visit to the General Manager of the Borno State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), Dr. Mohammed Aliyu, to formally introduce the Association, its activities, and its vision for a greener and more environmentally sustainable Borno State.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Association, Dr. Usman Ali Busuguma, presented the objectives of BOGGA and highlighted the various initiatives the Association has undertaken to support environmental conservation, urban beautification, tree planting, and sustainable horticultural development across the state.
Dr. Busuguma emphasized that BOGGA remains committed to complementing the laudable environmental initiatives of the Borno State Government under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, particularly through the Ministry of Environment and its relevant agencies. He noted that the Association is mobilizing its members and partners towards making Borno greener, healthier, and more resilient to environmental challenges.
As part of the Association's commitment to donate 1,000 tree seedlings in support of the state's greening campaign, BOGGA presented an additional 50 seedlings of different tree species to RUWASA. The donation is expected to contribute to tree planting and landscape enhancement within the Agency's premises and forms part of the Association's sustained efforts to fulfill its pledge.
In his remarks, the General Manager of RUWASA, Dr. Mohammed Aliyu, alongside the Agency's Directors, warmly received the Association and expressed admiration for the remarkable work BOGGA has been carrying out. They commended the Association's dedication to community development and environmental stewardship and pledged their support for initiatives that promote a cleaner and greener Borno.
A major highlight of the visit was the agreement to establish a strategic partnership between RUWASA and BOGGA for the beautification and landscaping of the RUWASA office complex and its frontage. This collaboration marks the beginning of what promises to be a productive relationship aimed at creating aesthetically pleasing public spaces while promoting environmental consciousness within government institutions.
The visit further reinforces BOGGA's resolve to build strategic partnerships with government agencies and other stakeholders in advancing its mission of supporting sustainable environmental development and contributing meaningfully to the transformation of Borno State.
