This lady Wendy Achumba was a 300-level student at one of the Colleges of Nursing in Imo State. She was approached for a relationship by a vulcanizer, one Onyema Okonkwo, who lived close to the late nurse’s house. After she repeatedly rejected his advances, Onyema decided to act with his friend for a reprisal.
On Thursday, they went to her house, r***d her, mutilated her body, took away her phone and killed her.
Following several investigations, the police arrested the suspects on Saturday. The vulcanizer confessed that they killed her because she recognized them. In an attempt to conceal their identities, Onyema struck her on the head with a stick, while his accomplice, identified as Emma, slit her throat.
