and big ups to our guy De Main-man "DAVE" for sharing generously to Our hearts, the need for Today.....and for those of us at Home this weekends, you got to make some security and safety evaluations!
What is Access Control?
Access control is a security measure, which is put in place to regulate the individuals that can view, use, or have access to a restricted environment. Various access control examples can be found in the security systems in your doors, locks, fences, biometric systems, motion detectors, and so forth. An access control system manages the entry of an individual into the facilities and allows access to an authorized person only.
I do not forget this example," if you want only members of the Accounting unit of your firm to have access to the third floor of your organisation, you can set up access for just them using their fingerprint, face, palm, card readers or access cards. So if Thelma the Head of Human Resources tries to get to the third floor, she will not be able to, despite the fact she works for the same firm". https://rapidaccessnig.com/access-control/
How Access Control Works
1. Access control readers give access to the building based on established credentials. Things like an access card, or biometrics like fingerprints, face, palm are all considered established credentials.
2. Door readers are connected to a network. Every person who needs access has a code tied to their credential and the system recognizes that they are authorized to be in the building.
3. Software tracks who enters and exits the building and can alert security supervisors, business owners, etc. when someone enters the building after hours or there is a break-in.
Access Card
An access card can be used to authorise entry into a restricted area.
Importance of Access Control
1. Knowing who is coming and going at all times
Many businesses have important on-site equipment and physical assets. To guarantee that no one has snuck into the facility, an access control device keeps track of who comes and goes.
It can be challenging for you to know every employee especially if you run a big company with many workers. Strangers sneaking in undetected will be prevented by the use of an Access Control System.
2. Secure sensitive documents and data
Often companies have records or documentation that shouldn't be open to just anyone. A company may use an access control system to restrict access to those places that house the hardware or software that stores this information.
3. No more worries about keys
When an employee quits and fails to return their keys, the company is forced to spend money on new keys and likely acquire new locks. If the employee left on bad terms, this also removes the chance that they will try to re-enter the building and do damage. The company can simply delete the employee's access from the system using the access control system.
When it comes to protecting your business, as well as your staff, access control is one of the best ways for you to achieve peace of mind.
Access control does more than just allow individuals into your building; it also lets you secure your data from different types of intruders.
There are a variety of access control systems to choose from for use in your home or business; some perform better than others.
