August Break means your lawn has entered a different season!
The rains have been doing most of the work for the past few months, so it’s easy to assume your lawn will simply keep going while the weather dries up.
But this is where a little attention makes a big difference.
You don’t necessarily need to water every day. You don’t need to panic when the grass starts looking slightly less lush. And you definitely don’t need to treat every lawn the same way.
What your landscape needs during the dry spell depends on a few things: how you water, when you water, what’s happening beneath the soil, and the type of grass you have.
A good watering routine helps. Mulching helps the soil hold on to moisture. Knowing your grass helps you set realistic expectations. And keeping foot traffic under control can make a surprising difference when the lawn is already under stress.
The goal isn’t to force your lawn to look exactly the way it did during peak rainy season. It’s to help it get through the break healthy enough to bounce back when the rains return.
So before you start watering every evening or wondering why your grass suddenly looks a little tired, we’ve put together a few simple things to keep in mind. 🌱
Save this for the weeks ahead, your lawn may thank you for it.
And tell us: what does your lawn usually look like during August Break, still green, slightly dull, or completely struggling?
