10-10-2023 BIBLE STUDY SERIES ON (1) LAZARUS'S PROFILE/CHARACTER.*
Lazarus’s role as an active spectator is recorded in John the gospel; John 11:1-46, 12:1-3, 9-11 also in Luke 10: 38-42 and Hebrews 4:15.
Lazarus was unknown by many and couples with the fact that he dwelled in a certain little village with his sisters, but he was a silent friend and lover of Jesus. The Bible recorded that Jesus loved him and called him his friend together with his sisters, possibly because they played host to Jesus and his disciples anytime Jesus came around or showed up in Bethany. They served not only Jesus with their substance but also his disciples that came around with Him for the period of their stay, especially the Lazarus’s two sisters. Although the parents of these three were not known to us nor spoken of in the Bible. However, the good gesture and attitude of these three siblings towards God’s work and word had been noticed. And Jesus had recommended the family to his father in heaven as a way responded back His love to them and planned with God the Father to do something spectacular in their family unknown to three of them; and the plan was that the first man's resurrection,
has been penned down by the heavenly to take place in the family both to further showcase the power and glory of God in Jesus' ministry and to give the family unusual recognition to date. Note this, that
there is nothing that you do for God that is in vain or gone unrecognised. It's a matter of time, be it in secret(unknown by many), silent, direct, or indirect. God will surely come again to you with compensation, and His compensation is most often oversized and unimaginable. Hear this, God may not come at your own time expected, and so you seemed forgotten and your sacrifice of yester years, but God knows and has the perfect time to do His wonders in your life. The circumstances around you may have gotten worse, possibly dead and smells, but at the stepping in of Jesus, there will be nothing to regret but to give all glory to God. What is going on therefore around your life is an opportunity for God to further showcase how great He is in your life. So be a little more patient with God. Don't give up because you will never be ashamed or disappointed.
Later on, in the story we saw the enemy gang up against Lazarus to killed him again and also do the same to Jesus, but the plot was in vain because the plot was outside the agenda of God for both of them. I pray for you and your endeavour this season that only God’s agenda will stand and come to pass.
PRAYER SESSION:
1. God and my father, use the relationship that exists between you and myself, to work more signs and wonders in my life and ministry in Jesus' mighty name.
2. God and my father, powers plotting for my downfall and death and downfall and death of my eternal Helpers, today by your power, scatter and destroyed them in Jesus' mighty name.
3. God and my father, let the glory and beauty of my life, and around my life, bring more people to your kingdom in Jesus' mighty name.
4. God and my father grants me grace and spirit of might to wait and be patient till you come or show up in my situation in Jesus' mighty name.
