MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF HIS EXCELLENCY, SENATOR DR. Uba Sani GOVERNOR OF KADUNA STATE
1. ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
1. Construction and rehabilitation of roads across the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
2. Initiation of approximately 150 road projects covering more than 1,300 kilometres across the State.
3. Construction of township roads in several Local Government Areas.
4. Construction and completion of the Kagarko Township Road.
5. Construction and commissioning of five township roads in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area.
6. Construction of the Kwoi–Gora Road.
7. Construction of the Durum–Kuruntumawa Road in Makarfi Local Government Area.
8. Construction and rehabilitation of roads linking rural communities with markets, schools and healthcare facilities.
9. Construction of the Kaduna Bridge from Kabala Costain to Aliyu Makama Road.
10. Completion of the Rabah Road–Rigasa Train Station Expressway project.
11. Construction of the Makera Road.
12. Construction of the Lokoja Road.
13. Construction of the Ado Gwaram Road.
14. Construction of the Asmau Makarfi Spur Road.
15. Construction of the Hunkuyi–Unguwan Rimi–Basawa Road corridor.
16. Construction of the Millennium City Ring Road from Danbushiya Junction to Danhonou 2.
17. Flood and gully erosion control projects in different parts of the State.
18. Compensation of property owners affected by major road and infrastructure projects.
The administration has described its infrastructure programme as an inclusive development agenda intended to connect rural communities to markets and essential services.
2. HEALTHCARE DEVELOPMENT
1. Upgrade of 255 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to Level-2 facilities.
2. Establishment of 23 PHC Centres of Excellence — one in each Local Government Area.
3. Completion and commissioning of the 300-bed Specialist Hospital.
4. Rehabilitation, remodelling and equipping of General Hospitals across Kaduna State.
5. Renovation of 19 General Hospitals to strengthen secondary healthcare.
6. Establishment of 120 neonatal corners across the State.
7. Procurement of three oxygen plants to support emergency medical services.
8. Distribution of modern medical equipment to Primary Healthcare Centres.
9. Procurement and distribution of essential medicines and health commodities.
10. Renovation and upgrading of the Kaduna State Health Supplies Management Agency warehouse to pharmaceutical-grade standard.
11. Establishment of a quality-control laboratory within the upgraded health-supplies warehouse.
12. Distribution of free essential medicines to Local Government Areas.
13. Strengthening of healthcare services in rural and underserved communities.
14. Improvement of welfare and working conditions for health workers.
15. Sustained allocation of at least 15% of the State budget to healthcare.
These health interventions are aimed at bringing quality healthcare closer to citizens, especially people living in rural and underserved communities.
3. AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY
1. Free distribution of fertiliser to smallholder farmers across Kaduna State.
2. Distribution of 400 trucks of fertiliser to 100,000 smallholder farmers.
3. Distribution of 500 trucks of fertiliser in the previous agricultural season.
4. Provision of two bags of fertiliser to each participating smallholder farmer.
5. Subsidised fertiliser support for commercial farmers.
6. Enrolment of 100,000 smallholder farmers into a crop-risk insurance scheme.
7. Provision of improved maize seeds and agrochemicals to 69,000 smallholder farmers under the “Tallafin Noma (A Koma Gona)” initiative.
8. Distribution of free agricultural implements to cooperative groups.
9. Provision of tillers to agricultural cooperatives.
10. Provision of solar-powered irrigation pumping machines.
11. Provision of water-pumping equipment for dry-season and year-round farming.
12. Distribution of Urea and NPK fertilisers to agricultural cooperatives.
13. Provision of motorised knapsack sprayers.
14. Provision of herbicides and pesticides to farming cooperatives.
15. Increased budgetary allocation to agriculture.
16. Launch of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ).
17. Development of the Agricultural Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC).
18. Promotion of agricultural processing, value addition and agro-industrialisation.
19. Support for farmers to improve productivity and food security.
20. Programmes aimed at connecting farmers with markets and expanding rural economic opportunities.
The State Government reported that agriculture received a substantially increased allocation in the 2025 budget and that Kaduna became the first Nigerian state to launch the SAPZ programme.
4. EDUCATION
1. Construction of 736 new classrooms.
2. Renovation of more than 1,200 existing classrooms.
3. Construction and completion of 62 new secondary schools.
4. Construction of an additional 50 secondary schools.
5. Construction of 102 new schools under the out-of-school children intervention.
6. Renovation of existing schools under the out-of-school children programme.
7. Completion and operation of six Science Secondary Schools.
8. Expansion of Tsangaya Bilingual Schools.
9. Construction of a Special School for Gifted Children at Millennium City.
10. Recruitment of 10,000 teachers.
11. Training of more than 33,000 education personnel.
12. Reduction of tuition fees by 50% in State-owned tertiary institutions.
13. Expansion of access to tertiary education.
14. Accreditation of previously unaccredited courses at Kaduna State University.
15. Accreditation of programmes at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic.
16. Accreditation of programmes at the College of Education, Gidan Waya.
17. Payment of outstanding tuition fees owed to foreign universities for State-sponsored students.
18. Support for Kaduna students studying Medicine, Nursing and other programmes abroad.
19. Programmes aimed at reducing the number of out-of-school children.
20. Establishment of the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development.
21. Training young people in ICT, mechatronics, renewable energy and other skills.
22. Improvement in WAEC, NECO and NABTEB performance.
The Governor reported that the number of out-of-school children had fallen substantially, while investments in classrooms, teachers and school rehabilitation continued.
5. WATER SUPPLY
1. Declaration of a state of emergency in the water sector.
2. Major financial intervention in the water supply system.
3. Improvement of water-supply system capacity utilisation.
4. Payment of outstanding salary arrears owed to Kaduna Water Corporation workers.
5. Settlement of outstanding electricity bills affecting water operations.
6. Rehabilitation and strengthening of water infrastructure.
7. Measures aimed at improving access to potable water across Kaduna State.
The administration stated that the intervention increased water-system capacity utilisation from below 5% to above 30%.
6. ENVIRONMENT AND MINING
1. Development of a Mining Development Roadmap for Kaduna State.
2. Repositioning of the solid-minerals sector.
3. Efforts to attract investment into the mining industry.
4. Measures to address illegal mining.
5. Development of lithium-processing capacity at Kangimi.
6. Expansion of mineral titles through the Kaduna Mining Development Company.
7. Promotion of value addition in the solid-minerals sector.
8. Development of environmental and climate-change initiatives.
9. Promotion of sustainable management of the State's natural resources.
Kaduna State has significant deposits of minerals including lithium, gold, tin, coltan, wolframite, titanium and iron.
7. RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS
1. Implementation of Project255 across all 255 wards of Kaduna State.
2. Provision of at least one impactful project in each ward.
3. Construction and rehabilitation of rural roads.
4. Renovation of schools in rural communities.
5. Upgrading of health centres.
6. Construction of boreholes.
7. Rural electrification projects.
8. Community development projects.
9. Projects designed to connect rural communities with markets and urban centres.
10. Promotion of equitable distribution of development across the State.

8. HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
1. Recruitment of 10,000 teachers.
2. Training of more than 33,000 education personnel.
3. Establishment of vocational and skills-development programmes.
4. Training in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
5. Training in mechatronics.
6. Training in renewable energy.
7. Skills-development programmes designed to improve youth employability.
8. Support for students through scholarship and tuition interventions.
9. Human-capital development programmes aimed at preparing young people for employment and entrepreneurship.
9. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENT
