So recently we had to salvage an installation for a Farm.
Client already had a 10KVA 96V and eight 12V Batteries with 12V Panels supplied.
The initial installers did a shabby job, asides supplying a fairly used, faulty and improperly repaired 10KVA inverter, which caught fire upon reconnection.
This also coupled with using a 48V Charge Controller on a 96V system, and abandoned the setup after it was an obvious it wouldn’t work.
We had to come thru, replace the inverter system, upgrade the solar power to 300 watts 36V that was looped in series to be able to serve the 96V systems, with a MPPT Charge Controller 60A.
The former batteries are not performing up to par but can still be managed till the client is ready to change them.
There were lots of issues that could only be rectified to a fair state.
Long story short, to avoid situations like this, we advise you deal with a team that prolly can prove their track records or can at least break it down.
While the alternatives might seem slightly cheaper, the stress, disappointment and extra expenses that comes afterwards is usually more than the price cuts.
