A transformation shaped by clean lines, thoughtful details and a practical approach to modern living. From its dated exterior, the facade has been given a clean contemporary look that sets the tone for the transformation within.
The ground floor was once divided into separate spaces, but removing the curved column doorway opened up the dry kitchen to the living area, creating a more seamless connection between the spaces. The living area was also designed around the home's existing conditions. With existing and new beams making a flat plaster ceiling unsuitable, a one-sided lower ceiling was introduced to conceal the beams while accommodating the cassette air-conditioning, keeping the space clean and practical.
The kitchen continues this clean and functional approach, with the dry kitchen pairing white and deep charcoal cabinetry, while the breakfast island creates a natural transition between the kitchen and dining area. Natural light was also brought into the home through larger windows, an open staircase wall with a side glass panel, and a skylight above the wet kitchen, creating brighter and more open spaces throughout the ground floor.
On the 1st floor, the layout was further extended to create larger bedrooms and an additional ensuite bathroom, making better use of the home's footprint while keeping the overall design clean and cohesive.
