We changed something about how we finish our projects 👀

Previously we were using a lot of solvent-based oil stains - easy application but not exactly fun to work with all day 😅 so we switched to water-based costings. Dries faster + way less odour in the workshop 🙌🏼

But ngl, it's not the easier option. We need more coats to get the same colour depth, AND it costs more per area than what we used before. So no.. We're not doing this for cost-cutting 😂 we just think it's a better choice for our team & participants, and for the finish that ends up in your home.

The *Meja Baliq* — a table that adapts to your space. ✨
The Meja Baliq is designed to be flipped and reoriented, giving you flexibility in both form and function. Crafted from solid rubberwood, it features a side compartment to hold your everyday essentials — from books to objects you love.

From a quiet idea during the MCO to a thriving community hub, The Wood Place was born out of a simple desire: to give people a space to step away from the digital world and create something real.

It started out as a personal hobby space, but has grown into a vibrant workshop where Malaysians from all walks of life come together to build.

Rooted in local talent and sustainably sourced Malaysian wood, we hope to help people realise that they are indeed capable of creating something with their own two hands. It provides a sense of fulfilment that cannot be replicated through digital consumption or purchasing items online.
