🏗️ Designing Circular Buildings: What Should We Measure?

How can we objectively determine whether one building design is more circular than another? 🔄

In a recent PAQS–IQSSL joint CPD webinar, Dr. Gayani Karunasena and Ms. Saba Mani from Deakin University shared groundbreaking insights into design-stage building circularity.

They introduced the Building Circularity Performance (BCP) model—a research-backed, weighted framework and toolkit (using Excel and Power BI) designed to help the built environment sector move toward a circular economy.

🤝 PAQS Delegation Successfully Visits CCEA to Advance University Accreditation and 2027 Congress Preparations! 🌏

On June 29, 2026, a PAQS delegation led by Chairman Mr. Goh Ngan Hong visited the China Engineering Cost Association (CCEA). We had a highly productive exchange focusing on the PAQS University Accreditation Program and the groundwork for the upcoming 2027 PAQS Congress!

🎓 Empowering the Next Generation of Professionals Globally
As the domestic construction market evolves, there is a rapidly growing demand for cost engineering professionals in overseas infrastructure projects. During the meeting, Chairman Goh detailed the objectives, requirements, and assessment methods of the PAQS Accreditation Program.

By achieving this international accreditation, universities can align their cost engineering curricula and talent development standards with global benchmarks—significantly broadening overseas career opportunities for graduates! 🛳️💼

CCEA President Tian Guoming extended a warm welcome and expressed full support for rolling out the accreditation initiative. We were also thrilled to be joined by academic representatives from Shenyang Jianzhu University (Vice Dean Li Lihong and Head of Department Zhao Qi) to explore practical implementation models for domestic universities.

🗓️ Looking Ahead to the 2027 PAQS Congress
The teams also held fruitful discussions regarding the preparations for the 2027 PAQS Congress, laying a solid foundation for a successful and impactful industry event.
