Duties & responsibilities
- Going into the site location to get first-hand experience, perform site measurements, and identifying discrepancies between the plan/drawing and actual site measurements.
- Clarifying any possible discrepancies or misunderstandings and ensure that our tender/quotations will be according to the clientβs requirements.
- Breakdown BQ according to trades/contractors/suppliers.
- To brief our contractors and suppliers to ensure they understand the requirements and site conditions
- Contributing to work planning, and briefing contract and project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- To perform cost analysis and compare with multiple quotations (minimum of 3)
- To perform value engineering and to provide alternatives in the form of construction methods and /or different choices of materials without compromising the design.
- To conduct a tender review and get approval from the tender committee before inking and tender submission.
- To ensure the tender submission is complete:-
- Cover Letter
- Tender Deposit / Earnest Money
- Inking of Tender without any spelling nor arithmetical errors
- Work Programme
- Project Organisation Chart
- Tender qualifications ( if needed)
- Schedule of Rates
- Proof of submission (Transmittal Letter stamped with company chop, date, and time)
- Coordinate the negotiation, bidding/tendering, ex*****on, and compliance of all contracts.
- To prepare and attend tender interviews, clarifying any other discrepancies if any, or any lack of information.
- Attending to tender addendums and tender questionnaires.
- To issue work orders to selected contractors/suppliers.
- To verify work progress at the site before submitting for progress claim (as per the condition of contract) and progress payment.
- To document any variation orders and submit quotations for approval (supported by SI/AI/EI/CVI or any other supporting documents).
- Ensure on all works and any additional works at every stage of a project are reviewed, approved, and completed on time, within budget, and to the correct standard
- To compile and prepare all documentation needed to submit for Final Claim and Final Payment
- To claim for release of retention sum (1st Moiety) upon completion of the contract.
- To claim for release of final retention sum (2nd Moiety) upon release of CMGD.
- To manage and control all costs associated with the project.
- Supplying documents and information to resolve disputes if any.
Skills & qualification
- A least a Diploma or Degree holder in quantity surveying or relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in quantity surveying.
- Good knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- A clear understanding of the construction industryβs laws and regulations.
- Have a broad range of building, managerial, and communication skills, along with sound commercial awareness.
