H U N I - architectural design studio provides full architectural and interior design services in Malaysia. WE are a team of passionate dreamers who seek to embrace the methods of seeing and understanding spatial dynamics and architecture through feelings. WE strive to design a “sense of space” which helps an architecture to take on a type of personality, and this personality triggers emotion in its building occupants. WE unfold your story through feeling aroused by architecture.

A home is more than walls and a roof.
It is where memories are made.

The laughter of your children on the lawn.
The conversations that bridge generations.
The quiet evenings that become cherished moments.

At HUNI Chew Architect, we believe great architecture is not measured only by its design, but by the life it nurtures within.

Every space we create is thoughtfully planned to bring families together, enhance daily living, and become the backdrop of meaningful experiences for years to come.

Because in the end, we are not just designing houses.

We design your memories.

WHY DO SOME EXPENSIVE HOUSES STILL FEEL CHEAP?

Luxury is not marble.

Luxury is not a designer chandelier.

Luxury is not imported finishes.

As an architect, I’ve visited homes where hundreds of thousands were spent on materials, yet the spaces still felt ordinary.

And I’ve also walked into homes with modest finishes that immediately felt calm, elegant, and timeless.

The difference?

Not the budget.

The design.

A well-designed home understands proportion.
Ceilings feel right.
Spaces feel balanced.

A well-designed home embraces natural light.
The house comes alive throughout the day.

A well-designed home uses materials intentionally.
Not more materials. Better materials.

A well-designed home respects human scale.
Spaces feel comfortable instead of overwhelming.

Most importantly, a well-designed home has thoughtful spatial planning.
You don’t just see the house.
You experience it.

Good architecture is often invisible.

You may not notice the ceiling height, window placement, circulation flow, or orientation.

But you will notice how the space makes you feel.

And that feeling is what real luxury is.

Because luxury is not about what a house costs.

It’s about how beautifully it supports everyday life.

A Small Act, A Meaningful Difference. 🌸

In conjunction with Wesak Day, the team from HUNI Chew Architect spent time giving back to the community through a donation visit to a welfare centre.

As architects, we often design spaces that shape lives. Today, we were reminded that beyond buildings and drawings, it is compassion, kindness, and human connection that truly shape a better world.

We may not be able to change the whole world, but through small acts of generosity, we hope to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

Thank you to the welfare centre for welcoming us, and thank you to our team for making this meaningful initiative possible.

Designing spaces. Building communities. Creating impact.

Happy Wesak Day. 🙏

5 Mistakes Homeowners Make Before Building a Bungalow

Building a bungalow is not just about having a beautiful design.

It starts much earlier — from choosing the right land, understanding your lifestyle, planning the orientation, and setting a realistic cost strategy before drawings begin.

Many homeowners only realise these mistakes after construction starts, when changes become expensive.

Before you build, ask yourself:

Is the land suitable?
Is the design practical for long-term living?
Will the house stay comfortable in Malaysia’s weather?
Is the budget planned properly from the beginning?

A good bungalow is not only beautiful.
It should be practical, comfortable, cost-aware, and able to grow with your family.

Before you build your bungalow, build your strategy.
