What does it take to create a great public space?

It takes ideas, teamwork, creativity and the courage to solve real-world problems.

That's exactly how students from SK Tasek Utara and SK Seri Kota Puteri 4 in Johor began their journey as kicked off last Saturday at Laman Rel Mahkota in Kluang.

Designed to spark curiosity in through hands-on learning, the 12-week programme gives students the opportunity to explore how architecture, engineering, sustainability and community planning come together to shape the places we live in.

Guided by YTL Construction’s multidisciplinary team, the students will take on a real-world design challenge: creating a community park. From brainstorming ideas and sketching concepts to building physical models and presenting their final designs, they'll experience how great ideas become reality.

But before the sketches and models came the first lesson of every successful project: safety first‼️Led by our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team, the students put their observation skills to the test in a lively Hazard Hunt.

Real Space Lab is organised by SIPP-YTL JV in collaboration with Ranhill SAJ and Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Johor, with Aset Keretapi (RAC) supporting the opening session as the venue sponsor.

YTL Construction recently took part in the inaugural Built Environment Tech Showcase, themed The Digital Built Environment: Connecting IBS, BIM & AI Across the Project Lifecycle, organised by the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce ( ) in collaboration with PlanRadar.

At the panel discussion on integrating IBS, BIM and AI across the project lifecycle, Ms. Yeoh Pei Tsen, Design Director of YTL Construction, shared how the company is applying AI and BIM across its projects to strengthen decision-making, optimise workflows and drive innovation throughout the project lifecycle. She also spoke about the role of ILMU by YTL AI Labs in accelerating AI adoption across the YTL Group by equipping employees with practical AI knowledge and capabilities.

A key message from the discussion was that successful digital transformation goes beyond technology. It also requires strong leadership, the right processes and a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Recently, YTL Construction welcomed 25 students and counsellors from The Spaceship Academy to Menara YTL as part of their educational study tour in Malaysia. 🚀

The students visited our rooftop to learn about our solar panel installation and sustainable building initiatives, before exploring the YTL Gallery to discover the YTL Group’s history and legacy.

They also joined an engaging session by Orges Lesha, Head of Digital Transformation, who shared how AI and digital technologies are transforming the construction industry through real-life examples.

The visit ended with a lively Q&A, with students asking thoughtful questions about AI, digital transformation and careers in the industry.
