The Japan International Design Pioneer Award recognizes outstanding projects in architecture, design, and innovation for their quality and contribution to the built environment.
Located in the historic center of San José del Cabo, Mexico, Laiva Plaza Hotel explores a form of hospitality architecture that seeks to integrate itself into the urban fabric, extending the experience of public space into the interior of the project. Rather than standing as an isolated object, the hotel is conceived as part of the city and the life that unfolds around it.
This recognition encourages us to continue exploring architecture that is sensitive to its place and capable of creating new relationships between people, the city, and its surroundings.
