Award einning architecture studio based in Mexico City with ongoing local and international projects. This has influenced our practice entirely.

Vertebral is an architecture and landscaping studio set inside a busy and complex city since 2016. We have always been drawn to places of nature and open outdoors. This is why we design gardens and build around them. To bring the forest into the city. We build with the materials we find in Mexico City and have learned to rely upon time and weather to give them their final appearance. We believe in

the importance of craftsmanship, and extend our design to the most minuscule aspects of our projects.

Architecture for us has a sequence. Narrow paths that lead to open spaces. Light that is dimmed and brightened. Views that come into sight and disappear. An architecture of encounters between the inside and the outside.

A surf community in Baja.
Still in process. Through walks, sketches, tests, and time spent in the water, the project has been finding its place.

The intention was never to create a rigid masterplan, but something more open and organic. A collection of scattered pieces across the landscape, shaped around everyday life: coming back from a surf session, running into friends, eating outside, resting in the shade, hearing the wind, and staying close to the ocean.

A hospitality project on the Mexican Pacific coast.
A series of lightweight, open units, conceived as vertical tree houses that occupy different layers of the cliff.

Built with wood, stone, and concrete, the focus was on ventilation, shade, and a direct connection to the outdoors.

Una serie de unidades ligeras y abiertas, concebidas como casas verticales que ocupan distintos niveles del acantilado.

Piezas sueltas construidas con madera, piedra y concreto, diseñadas para maximizar la ventilación, la sombra y una conexión directa con el exterior.

This project sits on a cliff along the Mexican Pacific coast. A hospitality space kept open to the landscape, working with wood, stone, and water.

The clients were closely involved from the beginning, bringing their own way of living into the process. It became a collaboration rather than a top-down design.

The goal wasn’t to create an architectural object, but something that belongs to the coast and feels part of it. A hospitality project with a residential scale, focused on experience, interaction, and a direct, personal engagement with the site.
