J J Jardíneria was founded in September 2013 by Jorge Lara, a native Meridano. Jorge began gardening at age 14 in the local neighborhood and soon developed a keen interest. He began working with a contractor from age 18 but temporarily put the gardening to one side as he studied to become a lawyer. After finishing his law school studies, Jorge decided he would like to be self-employed, and as gardening was a big interest, he decided to start his own gardening business. IN HIS OWN WORDS

JJ Jardineria fue fundada en septiembre 2013 por Jorge Lara, Meridiano nativo. Jorge comenzó la jardinería a los 14 años en el vecindario y pronto desarrolló un gran interés. Between the sand and the sea, nature finds its own way to bloom.

An afternoon in Sisal, where the dune vegetation, the horizon, and the light come together in perfect stillness.

In the foreground, the beach purslane (Sesuvium portulacastrum), one of the characteristic species of the pioneer vegetation found along the coastal dunes of Yucatán, recorded by CICY as part of the flora of the Yucatán Peninsula. With the recent passing of Fernando Caruncho, the world of landscape design says goodbye to one of its most influential figures.

A philosopher, gardener, and landscape designer, Caruncho understood the garden as much more than a green space. In his work, nature, architecture, geometry, and light came together to create places for contemplation and beauty.

He preferred to simply call himself a gardener.

His legacy reminds us that designing and caring for a garden is also about learning to observe, understanding each place, and respecting the rhythm of nature. 🌱
