Proud to support our community beyond the work we do every day.

Pesterminators was pleased to support Villimale Police in this special initiative for the senior citizens of Villimale, held in connection with the International Day of Older Persons.

Our appreciation to Villimale Police and everyone involved for creating a meaningful evening of care, health, awareness and connection for our elders.

We are always happy to play our part in initiatives that bring value to the communities we serve.

Every stage where food is left unmanaged ; improper storage, delayed disposal, overflowing waste , creates conditions that directly invite pest activity.
Reducing food loss and waste is not only an environmental priority; it is one of the most effective, low-cost forms of pest prevention available.

Key practices we recommend:

• Store dry goods in sealed, airtight containers rather than original packaging
• Apply first-in-first-out stock rotation to prevent forgotten, spoiling inventory
• Dispose of food waste promptly, in sealed bags and tightly lidded bins
• Maintain daily kitchen sanitation to eliminate residue that attracts pests
• Ensure communal and back-of-house waste management does not lapse into overflow

Small habits, real impact ; prevention at the source remains the most sustainable form of pest control.

Five years of ISO implementation means five years of reviewing how we work, finding gaps, correcting them and continuing to improve.

For Pesterminators, that is what this milestone represents.

We have successfully completed another ISO surveillance audit, continuing the systems we started building five years ago.

Today, we maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 22000, covering quality, environmental management, occupational health and safety, and food safety.

These standards have become part of our everyday operation, from how we deliver services and maintain records to how we manage chemicals, protect our employees, respond to customer feedback and follow up on corrective actions.

As Pesterminators has grown, these systems have become even more important. We need to maintain the same level of service and responsibility across different teams, clients and locations.

Thank you to Control Union Sri Lanka for conducting our latest surveillance audit and to Peterson Solutions (Sri Lanka) for continuing to work with our team in monitoring and improving our systems.

And a special thank you to our employees who put these systems into practice every day, as well as our customers, suppliers and partners who continue to be part of our progress.

Pest management is changing with better monitoring, new technologies, biological solutions and more sustainable approaches. The systems behind our services must continue to change with it.

Five years is an important milestone, but there is still more to improve.

That is how we see ISO at Pesterminators, not simply as a certificate to maintain, but as a system that keeps us improving.

World Environmental Health Day: Small actions, healthier surroundings.

Environmental health isn't just about nature — it's about the spaces we live, eat, and work in every day. And pests are often the first sign something's off.

Here's what you can do to help:

Dispose of waste properly — seal bins, avoid overflow, don't let garbage sit
Manage water responsibly — fix leaks, clear drains, remove standing water
Practice safe food storage — seal containers, clean up spills, don't leave food out
Keep surroundings maintained — trim overgrown areas, clear debris and clutter
Improve ventilation & moisture control — damp, stagnant spaces invite pests and mould alike
Act early — a small pest sighting today is easier to manage than an infestation tomorrow

A healthier environment starts with everyday habits; at home, at work, and in our communities.

Dengue risk is a year-round concern in the Maldives.

Meet Aedes aegypti, the mosquito behind dengue. It doesn't need a swamp; a capful of clean, still water is enough. Flower pot trays, AC drip trays, blocked gutters, unused tires, even a forgotten coconut shell can become a breeding site in days.

The good news? Most of this is preventable; by households, resorts, offices, and island communities alike.
✅ Empty and scrub containers weekly
✅ Cover water tanks and drums tightly
✅ Maintain circulation in fountains and pools
✅ Apply repellent at dawn and dusk
✅ Schedule professional larval surveillance

Save this post, share it with your team or household, and do a 5-minute check around your space this week

Five minutes today could save you a mosquito problem tomorrow.

Mosquitoes don't need much, just a few days of still water to lay eggs and multiply. Gutters, plant saucers, old tyres, tarpaulin sheet, bottle caps and pet bowls are the usual hiding spots, often overlooked in daily routines.

This World Water Monitoring Day, take five minutes to check your own space, before it becomes theirs.

Protecting your space shouldn't mean harming the planet.

Responsible pest management has evolved, moving away from practices that once damaged the ozone layer, toward targeted, science-led methods that protect people, property, and the environment together.

At Pesterminators Maldives, that's the standard behind every service we provide.

The most destructive property threats are often the ones operating out of sight.

Termites feed quietly on wood and cellulose materials long before structural changes become obvious to the eye. By the time damage is noticeable, an infestation is typically well established turning minor repairs into costly structural overhauls.

Key Warning Signs:

• Mud tubes - along walls, foundations, and support structures
• Damaged or hollow sounding timber - that feels soft or blistered
• Discarded wings - gathered near windows, doors, and light sources
• Winged swarmers - emerging during rainy and humid periods

Early detection protects your property, preserves your investment, and keeps your space secure. Routine professional inspections identify termite activity long before serious structural damage takes hold.

Know the pest. Understand the risk.

Protect your commercial and residential investments before visible symptoms appear.
