The cut reveals how natural cross-ventilation moves through the interior, while diffused daylighting enters via deep overhangs and shaded openings. The materials expressed in the layered wall assemblies, timber roof structure, and verandah framing—highlight the project’s low-impact approach.

The Courtyard

A sensorial experience leading home.

A minimalist white facade facing the road with a stone walled entrance leading to a cosy hidden green courtyard placed on the leeward side of the plot.

It is the sensory experience of the courtyard, with a planted landscape, the sound of the gentle breeze of the leaves, and the trickling sound of the water fountain with a different mood of morning and afternoon light, which epitomizes the exterior/interior spaces and completes the client's brief.

The dwelling caters for natural ventilation and is designed to specific elevations due to flood prone areas at Albion.
