DLB Group and its subsidiaries are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support cost control and commercial management across our construction projects, in line with our standards of quality, accuracy and professionalism.

Working closely with the sales and operations teams, the ideal candidate should have a sound technical grounding and the ability to track quantities, costs and payments on site.

𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨

• Take off quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

• Assist the sales team with tenders and measurements

• Obtain quotations for fit-out items

• Award subcontracts and prepare fortnightly payment certificates

• Follow up with operations on the progress of works

• Allocate expatriate costs

• Submit claims and follow up on certificates

• Monitor project costs

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying

• At least 3 years' relevant experience

Paul marks 5 years on 13 September. Since 2021 he has worked in the stores, receiving, recording and issuing materials so that site teams have what they need, when they need it. Stock that is accurate and available is what keeps a programme on track and costs under control.

𝙇𝙤𝙪𝙞𝙨 𝙅𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙖𝙛 - 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧

Louis Jhonny completes 10 years on 22 September. He carries out excavation and earthworks, working with the precision and care that foundations require. Every structure we deliver depends on the ground being cut and prepared correctly.

𝙇𝙤𝙪𝙞𝙨 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙤 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚 - 𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙧 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧

Louis Ricardo completes 10 years on 27 September. He handles the lifting and placing of materials on site, so that teams can progress each stage of construction safely. Getting loads to the right place, safely, keeps the trades working and the build moving.

All structural casting across the development’s eight blocks—foundations, floor slabs and roof slabs - has now been completed on schedule, without compromise on quality or safety.

Our congratulations go to the entire team and the site team led by Site Manager Jean Baptiste Perrine. This achievement is the result of careful planning, close coordination and discipline on site every day. 🙌

Charmose also represents DLB Construction’s evolving business model. We are not simply constructing for another developer: the project is conceived, developed and delivered end to end by DLB Construction.

𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 — Minimum 5 years' experience, valid driving licence.

5️⃣ 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧

𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 — Record transactions, prepare invoices, receipts, payments, reports, monitor receivables/payables, reconcile bank statements, follow up on outstanding payments, assist with budgeting, audits and month/year-end closing.

An initiative of the DLB Staff Welfare Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Wellness.

On Wednesday, 19 August, our Curepipe Head Office hosted an afternoon of free, confidential health screenings for our team, an exercise that will soon be extended to our various construction sites.

Staff benefited from BMI and weight checks, vision testing, blood pressure and waist measurements, HbA1c (diabetes) screening, and one-on-one consultations with healthcare professionals. Women also had access to confidential breast and cervical cancer screenings.

Because our people are our greatest asset. This initiative reflects DLB’s commitment to employee wellbeing.

𝙍𝙚𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙈𝙚́𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙚𝙧 𝙁𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮

Following the devastating fire that destroyed Mélanie’s home on 28 May, DLB Construction, together with its valued partners, took the initiative to rebuild a safe and welcoming home for Mélanie and her family.

Reconstruction began on 9 July and was completed on 14 August, with the keys officially handed over to Mélanie on 18 August.

We were truly blessed by the generous support of our dedicated partners: Grewals, WinPro Ltd, Nextep Home Solution, REDLINE, Nextep Contracting, Square Deal, Happy House Mauritius, STR, Sofap, Naresh & Sons, Nature Sculpt Landscaping, Masterbay and Sofidis Ltd. Their generous contributions of materials, equipment and support played an essential role in bringing this project to life. To each of them, we extend our heartfelt thanks.

We also sincerely appreciate the members of the DLB Staff Welfare who encouraged our employees, as well as colleagues from our sister companies, NEXTEP and Route Twenty-Six, to come together and donate essential household items. The positive response was truly heartwarming.

Together, these acts of generosity have helped make Mélanie’s transition into her new home a little easier, bringing a renewed sense of hope and comfort after such a difficult chapter.
