Complete stone replacement. before and after is quite obviously complete replacement with new stone, which can be either newly quarried stone or salvaged stone with same size as the old one.

The Planning Authority has reopened the Irrestawra Darek u l-Villaġġ grant scheme, supporting the restoration and conservation of scheduled buildings located outside Urban Conservation Areas.

Eligible applicants may benefit from grants of up to:

✅ €100,000 for Grade 1 scheduled buildings
✅ €50,000 for Grade 2 scheduled buildings

The scheme supports high-quality restoration works that protect the historic and architectural value of Malta’s built heritage.

📅 Expressions of Interest are open from 2 July 2026 at 9:00am and close on 9 July 2026 at 9:00am, or earlier if funds are fully allocated.

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
