DREAM GARDEN — A NEW CHAPTER

One of our favourite projects has taken on an entirely new character.

Dream Garden has evolved — becoming more sculptural, more immersive, and perhaps a little unexpected.

The landscape is now shaped by a sequence of flowing lawn terraces, remotely inspired by the rhythm of ancient rice terraces in China. Here, however, their language is deliberately contemporary: soft green planes are defined by thin dark steel edges, turning the terrain itself into architecture.

And then — the children’s playground.

Instead of treating it as a separate functional element, we imagined it as an object within the garden. Its mirrored surfaces dissolve into the surrounding trees, reflecting foliage, sky and changing light. At times almost invisible, at others strikingly present, it becomes both a place for play and a piece of landscape art.

Natural stone, grasses, perennials and mature trees soften the geometry, while architecture and landscape gradually merge into one composition.

The same Dream Garden.
But with an entirely new expression.

Not every tree is meant to be a focal point.

Some are meant to shape space.

Trained Pyrus calleryana ‘Chanticleer’ creates structure, rhythm and scale while allowing architecture to remain the protagonist.

This is exactly why we chose them for the landscape of ibis Styles Chișinău .

The most memorable places are rarely defined by architecture alone.

They are shaped by the spaces in between.

In this project, the architecture, roads and circulation were already established. Our role was to create a landscape that connects movement, sport and everyday life into one coherent experience.

Landscape is not an object.

It is the element that gives meaning to everything around it.

Great gardens are rarely remembered because of a single tree or a beautiful stone.

They are remembered because every detail feels inevitable.

The stone wasn’t added as decoration.
The paving wasn’t cut to impress.
The pine wasn’t planted to fill a space.

Each element exists because the others do.

This is the difference between arranging materials and composing a landscape.
