We Love Wood 💚
Kalvasta Timber have designed and developed an exceptional project – a unique 100% wooden office building. Although it is intended for our client in Sweden, the design can be easily adapted for other customers in various markets. We created this project in collaboration with Sweco in Sweden.
Key Features of the Concept:
🏢 5 floors, 8500 m2.
🌿 100% wooden structures (excluding the foundations).
🔨 Engineered wood materials such as CLT, GLT, Glulam, and prefab elements, manufactured in our factory in Latvia.
💼 Scandinavian minimalist architecture that creates a warm and comfortable working environment.
Main Features of Our Office Building:
✅ Fire Resistance: Floors and walls comply with REI60 – REI90 fire safety requirements.
✅ Safety: Visible wooden surfaces can be coated with fire-retardant paint of class B-s1, d0.
✅ Acoustics: Solutions meet strict Swedish Class A and B acoustic standards.
✅ Speed: This type of wooden building can be constructed twice as fast as a traditional one.
✅ Flexibility: Various modern architectural solutions are possible.
✅ Sustainability: Wooden structures not only emit zero CO₂ but also store it. This office building locks in about 1,700 tons of CO₂, equivalent to the annual emissions of 350 cars. The building can meet the highest LEED and BREEAM sustainability standards.
