Back in the workshop. 🔥

I've been a little quiet the last few days while taking care of some personal business, but today the lights are back on in the workshop.

That means one thing...

It's time to start chasing another memory.

The next atmosphere I'm working on isn't just another candle.

It's Grilled Corn on the Cob.

Not the smell of canned corn.
Not movie theater butter.

I'm talking about standing next to the grill on a summer evening...

Corn roasting in the husk.

The smell of the silk beginning to char.

Butter melting into every bite.

Smoke drifting through the backyard while someone laughs from the patio.

That's the memory I'm trying to bottle.

Every candle starts the same way here:

🧪 Back in the Workshop...

Sometimes creating a new candle has nothing to do with mixing fragrance oils.

It starts with listening.

This week, you've shared memories like:

🌽 "Butter dripping off my chin."

🔥 "The smell of the grill and butter."

🌾 "The smell of burning corn silk."

Those aren't just comments.

Every one of them goes into my notebook before I ever pour a test candle.

Back in the Workshop...

One thing I've learned while building Wicked Man Candle Co. is that the best candles don't start with fragrance oils.

They start with a memory.

Before I mix anything, I ask myself:

"What moment am I trying to recreate?"

Sometimes it's standing in an old auto shop.

Sometimes it's the morning after a campfire.

Sometimes it's waiting for your steak to arrive.

And sometimes... it's standing around a charcoal grill while the corn finishes roasting in the husk.

Only after I can picture that moment do I start reaching for the fragrance bottles.

That's how every Wicked Man candle begins.

Not with a recipe...

With a memory.

🌽 Back in the Workshop...

Reading everyone's comments has made me realize something.

This candle isn't really about corn.

It's about this moment.

You're standing around a charcoal grill on a warm summer evening.

The corn is about halfway done in the husk.

The leaves are starting to brown. The silk is beginning to burn. Every now and then, a little puff of smoke drifts into the air.

Someone lifts an ear with the tongs and says...

"They're almost ready."

The burgers are still on the grill.

People are talking.

Kids are laughing.

You've got a cold drink in your hand, and for a few minutes, life is exactly where it should be.

That's the atmosphere I'm trying to capture.

Not just the smell of grilled corn.

The memory that comes with it.

When I say "Grilled Corn on the Cob"... what memory comes to mind? 🌽🔥

Maybe it's a backyard barbecue with family.

Maybe it's standing around the grill while someone says, "They're almost ready."

Maybe it's the county fair... camping... Fourth of July... or that first bite with butter running down your hands.

Whatever memory popped into your head... that's exactly why I'm asking.

This week, I'm back in the workshop working on something new.

One of the goals behind Wicked Man Candle Co. has never been to make candles that smell "good."

It's to create candles that smell like places, memories, and moments.

So today I'm chasing something surprisingly difficult:

The smell of corn slowly roasting over hot coals... a little smoke... a little char... that unmistakable aroma that tells you summer has arrived.

Will it work?

I honestly don't know yet.

That's the fun part.

Every new candle starts as an idea, becomes a notebook full of scribbled formulas, and eventually... if everything goes right... becomes an atmosphere worth remembering.

🔥 It's official... the Wicked Man Candle Co. website is now live.

Months of testing, tweaking, pouring, burning, and rebuilding have finally led to this.

For me, this has never been about making candles that smell like cologne or perfume. I wanted to recreate real places, memories, and moments. An oil change in the garage. A quiet tack shop. Yesterday's campfire. Your favorite steakhouse on a Saturday night.

The new website tells the story behind each candle, introduces the Core Collection, and features the Founder's Collection for those who want to be part of the beginning.

A lot longer than it looks.

Every batch is carefully measured, blended, poured by hand, and then given time to cure before it's ever considered ready. There are no shortcuts to creating an atmosphere that feels authentic.

That's because every scent has one job:

To transport you to a place, a memory, or a moment the instant you light it.
