Une communauté énergétique ne fonctionne pas à côté du réseau électrique. Elle s'appuie sur lui.

Le gestionnaire de réseau de distribution (GRD) assure le fonctionnement du réseau : il achemine l'électricité jusqu'aux compteurs, mesure les consommations et les productions et met les données nécessaires à disposition.

La communauté énergétique, elle, permet d'organiser le partage de l'énergie renouvelable entre ses membres.

☀️ Une grande partie de cette énergie est produite lorsque le soleil est là, principlement en journée. C'est à ces moments que la communauté peut permettre de mieux valoriser les surplus disponibles en les partageant avec les membres qui consomment. La nuit, ou lorsque la production renouvelable ne suffit pas, le réseau reste là pour fournir l'électricité nécessaire.

🤝 Les deux fonctionnent donc ensemble en complémentarité :

An energy community does not operate alongside the electricity grid. It relies on it.

The distribution system operator (DSO) is responsible for operating the grid: it delivers electricity to meters, measures consumption and production, and provides the data needed for energy sharing.

The energy community, on the other hand, enables renewable energy to be shared among its members.

☀️ A large part of this energy is produced when the sun is shining, mainly during the day. This is when the community can help make better use of available surplus by sharing it with members who are consuming. At night, or when renewable production is not sufficient, the grid remains there to provide the electricity needed.

The DSO ensures access to electricity and the operation of the grid and the community enables the available renewable energy to be shared among its members.

An energy community needs an organisation to coordinate the sharing, handle the necessary procedures and ensure that the system runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
