In the tropical climate, a façade has more to do than look good. It needs to respond to the sun. ☀️

The intense solar exposure in the region can significantly influence indoor heat gain and cooling requirements. That makes solar control an important consideration from the very beginning of façade design. With EXTEC Aluminium Mesh Cladding, made in Italy, the façade can become an additional layer of solar protection. Its louvred mesh apertures help filter direct sunlight while allowing air movement and diffused daylight to pass through.

Compared with a more concealed façade finish, which primarily creates a continuous envelope, an open mesh façade can provide solar shading while maintaining airflow, daylight and a visual connection with the exterior.

The result? A façade designed not only to look distinctive, but to respond to the tropical climate — helping manage solar exposure and support occupant comfort, while potentially reducing reliance on mechanical cooling.

EXTEC Aluminium Mesh Cladding — designed for tropical architecture.
