Entrepreneur Biography:
The biggest joy of this quadrilingual engineer is to see the little triclus drivers smiling in Byblos’ public garden. Nicolas is the author of 8 delivered patents, registered in the EU, USA, and Japan. After graduating from the American University of Beirut with a distinction in mechanical engineering, Nicolas obtained a scholarship to pursue his studies at the Imperial College in London where he obtained a Master of Science degree in manufacturing automation. Nicolas started his career as an industrial engineer at Ford Motor Company, and then spent seven years with another automotive supplier (Valeo - climate control branch). Later on, he moved to Germany as a concept development supervisor. His dream of creating a manufacturing facility in Lebanon drove him back home. Here, he set up his Phoenus company in 2008, just after selling one of his patents to Behr/Mahle (a German automotive supplier). Not only does Nicolas design and manufacture his products, but he also produces all the tools and machines needed for manufacturing, using a simple in-house developed sandwich technique based on laser cutting.
