That intimate relationship to the sea is enforced by the sound of the waves that roll over the rocks to vanish on the massive foundations, albeit from the private port side where the villa can be accessed by boat.
The architectural concept embodies the typological characteristics of the site, expressing them in the aesthetics whose semantic meaning of vertical rooting and horizontal expansion, join in a dynamic counterpoint of radiating axes in the x, y, and z directions that configure volumes and spaces together. From their point of intersection under the vertical sky-lighted dome, the architectural space expands visually in both directions to embrace the sea.

Located on a unique promontory, surrounded by the sea, the Cape villa is a large residence conceived on a scale of "grandeur" that does not exclude romance. Its dramatic relationship with wavy waters and the infinitely stretching horizon, triggered the idea of an architecture that has the character of having always been there, housing at the same time the dreamy scope of departure beyond the sea. Such a scope is rooted in the millenniums of the history of the Lebanese shore, addressing inclusively the distant typologies that mark the inland and the Mediterranean identities.

Designed by Moukarzel Architecture as sub-consultants to ACE,
The new campus will be implemented in a 3 phase methodology, in such a way that the existing school continues to function while simultaneously being replaced. Developed in a configuration of volumes, it is set in a network of open and closed spaces, embracing the football field.
The functions are set in an Oriental pattern of semi-introvert spaces, articulated in a rhythmic succession of buildings and courts, light and shade, in an organization that diffuses the atmosphere of patrimonial urban settings.
The main gallery deploys in depth like a shaded oriental inner road or "promenade", inviting the student and visitor to access the space, leading him to the functions. The forms are easy to read, guiding the user intuitively to their destination.
Intellectual, social, and sport activities "merge" organically to contribute to the formation of student personalities. The global networking thus obtained confers to the campus the concept of unity and diversity to its parts. Unity is the result of a global geometric patterning formed by axes, rhythms, and basically a modular repartition. The buildings are connected for functional efficiency as well as for an optimal exploitation of the terrain, yet each section has its distinctive identity in space, form, and relationships.

Commissioned by the Maronite Church Authorities to be the reference of the Community in Washington DC, the Church of Our Lady of Lebanon is built as a new paradigm, for it has to be Modern and integrated to its environment, while baring the character of the Maronite tradition rooted in the History of Mount Lebanon. The architectural concept does not recall the Identitarian typologies of that tradition, but rather evokes their character in an abstract manner, assessing a new language for church design in response to new social and contextual components.

A timeless architecture anchored in the traditions of the Eastern Coast of the Mediterranean, the typology is a synthesis between heritage and modernity. Minimalistic design consisting of floating slabs extend the internal and external spaces in a sleek motion towards the sea. The slabs are free from obstruction and the envelope limits are mostly transparent in order to allow for the flooding of the space with light and to invite the panoramic sea scenery indoors as well as the gentle sea breeze, a hint of the Zephyr.

The Narthex frames a stained glass screen wall that integrates the entrance door, initiating a sanctified feeling at the access of the Church space, a dimmed lit nave that evolves in crescendo towards the flooding light of the spherical glass dome that embodies the Altar. The envelope of the space is constituted by abstract geometric curves modulated to define the various ceremonial settings by recalling semantic liturgical meanings deeply rooted in the Church Tradition.

The school partially built some of these spaces that were part of the original design: a didactic library, theater and music rooms, art and photography workshops, a gymnasium, a covered basketball court, and outside tennis fields. Each function has its own personality, where aesthetics were an issue in managing this complex diversity in an organic unity, where each part contributes to the balance and harmony of the whole.
The schemes and model show the complete project of 1992 which was unfortunately not completely executed.

Set on a unique promontory by the sea in the Northern Lebanese coast, the Sea Side Villas living spaces are extended in full aperture along wide terraces that embrace an unobstructed panoramic view. The spaces are oriented South-West, they are generously lit by a flooding sun during winter, while remaining variably shaded from a high rising sun during summer.
Each of the Villas was designed with a unique character, some recalling the spirit of the seventeenth and eighteenth century Lebanese patrimonial palaces, while others extend the span of the internal spaces in order to visually embrace the wide panorama.

The architectural typology is expressed through natural materials; it assumes the heritage of patrimonial architecture in Lebanon. It bears simultaneously the double coding of tradition and modernity.

A 2000sqm family building that consists of four apartments, each one personalized by its own aspect and function. The global unity is a semantic expression of solidarity. The building is located in a natural and landscaped setting where different entities are conceived in an organic relationship with nature.
