[hatch] architects and planners is an international design studio based in Beirut, Lebanon.
[hatch] is skilled in various aspects that deal with design, development and construction of projects on architectural and urban scales.
[hatch] implies the act of formulating a concept, by marking a space in ( in fine art and technical drawing) with closely drawn lines, to conceive the project. Founded by Nada Borgi & Sandra Richani in 2013, [hatch] aims to offer a multidisciplinary approach that develops visionary projects to meet each client’s needs and desires while maintaining comfortable, inspiring and socially aware projects. We believe that awareness of the context on the micro and macro scale is a key for a successful project. By creating urban relationships, sustainable and environment friendly proposals, projects become fruitful investments on the short and long term. On the architectural scale, we believe in accentuating the sensory aspects of the spatial experience. The material, light and the negotiation with borders are the tools we use to engage the individual with the world, and evoke the senses.
[hatch] has designed a number of projects including a 11,200 sqm villa in the suburbs of Beirut, the renovation and restructuring of a 3,200 sqm hospital in Amioun, Lebanon and a 25,000 sqm development in Qolhat, Lebanon which will house more than 600 students. We work at all scales by creating transformative spaces the work in synchronicity with their socio-political and spatial surroundings.
[hatch] offices is currently located in Gemmayze, Beirut Lebanon. It is located on the fourth floor of a mixed use 1970's building. The building is shared with an art lab and many various think tanks.
