1/3: Seen from afar, the house becomes part of the mountain’s weather.
A discreet shelter in a vast winter field — framed by branches, snow, rocks, and the pale silence of the horizon.
Architecture here is not an object placed in nature, but a measured pause within it.

2/3: Grey on white.
Metal against snow.
A roofline drawn with the restraint of a winter horizon.
The project finds its place through quietness: a compact form, precise openings, and a materiality that absorbs the cold light of the mountain rather than competing with it.

3/3: A house almost disappears into winter.
Not hidden, but held by the landscape — between rock, snow, water, and silence.
In the mountains, architecture becomes less about presence than precision: the right volume, the right line, the right degree of retreat.

A dialogue across decades. Originally designed in 1949 by Edgard Sisto, La Tour stands on the Caracas hill as a testament to Beirut’s modernist spirit. Our intervention wasn’t about change, but about “subtlety”—a reprise of the modernist form.

We preserved the “yellow building” metaphor with a barely reflective yellowish concrete finish—a distant echo of traditional stone translated into the language of concrete. It stands as a silent witness to the intersection of Al Qalaa and Venus streets, bridging the gap between ancestral memory and the unknown future.

A dialogue across decades. History doesn’t need a rewrite; sometimes, it just needs a more resonant echo. Originally designed by Edgard Sisto in 1949, this modernist icon on the Caracas hill has been gently re-awakened. Our intervention was a “reprise”—preserving the soul of the “yellow building” through a yellowish concrete finish that honors the past while speaking to the future. A silent witness at the intersection of Al Qalaa and Venus streets, bridging the gap between ancestral memory and the unknown future.

We are happy to unveil the completion of La Tour — a thoughtful revival of a 1949 Beirut landmark by Edgard Sisto.

The project reactivates a slender modernist icon in the Caracas district, preserving its distinctive character while introducing a renewed spatial and material experience for today.
