Antonine Wall - Constructed in AD 142.
The Antonine Wall in Scotland, constructed by the Romans in the 2nd century AD, is one of the best-preserved Roman frontiers in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The wall stretches 63 kilometres (39 miles) from Old Kilpatrick in West Dunbartonshire on the Firth of Clyde to Carriden near Bo'ness on the Firth of Forth. The wall was intended to extend Roman territory and dominance by replacing Hadrian's Wall 160 kilometers (100 miles) to the south, as the frontier of Britannia.
